Sleep

So when did your baby go 6 hours at night?

DS1 is 10 wks today and is going a very consistent 4 hours between feeds at night. Down at 7.30pm, awake at 11.30/12, feed, awake at 3.30/4am, feed, awake at 6.30/7am. He's good, he'll take a feed and then settle straight back to sleep but he's been doing this for about 5 weeks and I guess I'm waiting for something to change.... We actually had a few 5/6 hour stretches when he was 4 weeks and thought we'd hit the jackpot but that lasted a couple of nights. And then at 6 weeks he started going to 12.30am....but we're back at 11.30pm. He's breastfed and a good weight, on 50th centile.

DS was about 12 weeks.

DD was about 2.5 years.

Good thing DS was the first child really Grin

I think DD was about 10 weeks. Unfortunately though, now at 11 months old I count myself very lucky if we get a 6 hour stretch.

DS was 2.5 years and DD was 16 months.

They are 8 and 20 months now and still don't seem to need much sleep :(

DD is 16 weeks. We had a few long stretches during her 14th/15th week and are now back to two/three hourly wake ups.

My first slept for 6 hours the first time on Christmas Eve/morning. It was the best sleep I've ever had and a great present! He was 10 weeks.

DS did it about twice around 4 months (2 months corrected). He then did it again once at 9 months. And once at 14 months.
He started reliably sleeping through soon after he turned 2 Grin

Depends on your luck it seems!
Hang in there xxx

I think about 4 or 5 months before he would go that long!

He's almost 8 months now and is just dropping his last 5am feed and sleeping through now.

Sorry but at 10 weeks you've still got plenty of broken sleep to come yet!

At about 1 year. DD sleeps well now (18months) but it took a long old time to get there. She was also breastfed and on the 50th centile.

ds1 3 years
ds2 8 weeks
Dd1 12 weeks

and Dd2 is 8 weeks and has been sleeping 6 hours at night from 4/5 weeks

all depends on the baby, each of mine all had the exact same routine and as you can see each is different

DD was 8 weeks - started while we were on holiday. She had a sleep regression at four months but then once past that she was then doing 7-7. Til the next regression hit....

Dd1 about six months, coincidently as we started feeding her solids.

Dd2 about eight weeks. Was bliss.

DD1 was 2 years before she consistently slept anything close to 6 hours.

DD2 did it at 2 days. We were still in hospital and I woke up at night, realised it had been that long since her last feed, panicked and checked that she was still breathing, then thought YES I have a child that sleeps. In the morning she started looking yellow and we realised she was so sleepy due to jaundice.

DD2 is actually a much better sleeper than DD1 is. I think it just luck though (she also does more spectacular tantrums so not all good).

Thanks all, sounds like I have a long way to go....typically last night was the worst night for a while. DH gave him a bottle of formula before bed (something we'd like to do as routine to give me a break) and it may be a coincudence but he had a bad nights sleep:-(
