I felt ridiculous

some of the mum, mummy etc names on MN are perfect, especially if they belong to regulars, you must never change!

some of them, however, are rather uninspired and lacking in imagination (no one here though)

I am very glad Getorfmyland changed her name, she stands out much more now she is GetOrfMyLand.

still makes me snigger too

to be fair it was on a 'change your name to something crap with 'mum' in' day

Report
flimflammum · 30/09/2009 08:49

I have been a bit about my name. When I first joined and knew nothing, I wanted to be 'flimflam' but it was already taken, so I added the 'mum'. Then for ages couldn't work out how to name change. Now I don't want to in case anyone out there remembers me.

So there.

Maybe we should have little icons we can choose to put next to our names denoting our status and number/age of children such as, TTC and hopeful, Pregant with no DCs yet, Mum with Baby, Mum with infants, Mum with teenagers etc. Then the Mum suffix could be banned.

Same with Dads of course as we all seem to insert Dad too.

Yes hairy icons would be cool!! we'll also need one for a 3 year old stropping on the pavement a la my ds this am (sorry if you live in my street!!)

I think we should accept EG's apology.

Lulamama, that namechange wouldnt work for you, we all know you are lovely really!

Tarka - a ticker woudl be cool!.

We could have a whole set of scrolling icons along the blue strip next to our names denotng how we feel too 'angry don't mess with me', 'quite drunk liable to regret this post', 'tearful and need a hug', that kind of thing.

ThingOne · 30/09/2009 10:02
