You need to click on 'report' above your opening message and politely ask mumsnet to close the thread, giving your reason why. It might take a few hours.

You can't close it but you can ask for it to be deleted by "reporting" your opening post on it and asking MNHQ that way

Look to the right of the your name on the opening post

you can't.

If you don't want people to post on your threads then don't post threads. Hmm

Oh, it doesn't work that way.

Better to be brave, go back and take the replies in good spirits.

We have all been a bit of a twat every now and again.

Sorry - didn't mean to sound mean. I know we've all 'piled' in but I think MN is really good at helping keep things in perspective.

You need to close the Mumsnet page, type www.babycentre.co.uk into your browser and join them.

They allow posters to close threads if you don't like the responses you're getting.

It's one of the reasons I left there.

HTH.

Don't get it deleted! It's a great thread! People wouldn't post on it if they thought it was a waste of time. If you don't want to see any more replies, you can hide the thread.

I think MN have a policy if not deleting anything just because you feel a bit silly, only if you've said something insulting or outed someone or similar.
