Interesting read....

Base an animalistic apparently.

A good nights sleep'd do for me.

So... no one interested in some interesting facts about female sexuality, and how this study shows that physically, females are greater turned on by stranger sex, to a greater extent than partner sex?

But that women deny this.

So, it would seem, it's social conditioning holding back female sexual urges.

HotDAMNlifeisgood Mon 10-Mar-14 21:43:28

Eh, you knock yourself out reading hackneyed articles that are just an excuse to put titillating soft-core pictures in a magazine. There's nothing new in this "research".

PortofinoRevisited Mon 10-Mar-14 21:46:04

I want to win the Euromillions this week. HTH.

Kneedles Mon 10-Mar-14 22:08:23

I'd be happy with a new bathroom.

MikeWazowski Mon 10-Mar-14 22:09:36

I'd settle for a hug

50KnockingonabiT Mon 10-Mar-14 22:10:47

to jack work in and be a lady that lunches, that's what I really want.

Shallow I know:D

PublicEnemyNumeroUno Mon 10-Mar-14 22:11:59

Well what i really want is somebody who will buy me McDonalds and tell me im pretty. Luckily i have a DH who already does that smile

TheFabulousIdiot Mon 10-Mar-14 22:13:35

I want everything I have now, and a bit more quality uninterrupted sleep. Sex right now would just interrupt the little sleep I get.

Slapperati Mon 10-Mar-14 22:14:16

I want...

...global female emancipation.
...equality of opportunity for women and girls.
...someone to manufacture tights that don't make me want to cut my own feet off.

GarlicMarchHare Mon 10-Mar-14 23:43:42

I already knew that, beach, I thought everybody did!

And, yeah, what the others said about money, holidays, gender equality, etc. Plus my health back and a high-spec car, please.

Buy bigger tights, Slap, it's a revelation wink

LineRunner Mon 10-Mar-14 23:50:02

What I want is for people of stop posting crapshit 'evolutionary research' on MN.

Well, tbh., assumed you were a troll, especially at 4 am.

Anyway, re: the groundbreaking discovery [blah] that female sexuality is "not the rational, civilized and balancing force it’s so often made out to be — that it is base, animalistic and ravenous" ... er, the belief that female sexuality is dark and dangerous and nigh uncontrollable is very old. Like, Adam and Eve old. That belief has been used to curtail women's autonomy for a very long time.

Who the hell has painted female sexuality as rational and civilized, ever??

And why does female sexuality need to be one or the other? Next are we going to be getting a treatise on madonna sexuality (calming and wholesome experience, almost like meditating) vs. whore sexuality (feels like being eaten alive by a cheetah)? That'll be an interesting twist.

Lottiedoubtie Tue 11-Mar-14 00:57:30

I'd settle for not being treated as one massive homogenous group tbh hmm

beachside Tue 11-Mar-14 04:45:54

Keatsie... ever realised there's more than one time zone?

Or I could have been up doing a feeding session. smile

Either way, the article seems to say, that physiologically, we are like the beasts, yet due to cultural and societal norms, we supress this and conform to male strictures.

But ok, most other replies here glibly go straight past the point and make glib remarks without reading, or thinking, about the article.

CuttedUpPear Tue 11-Mar-14 05:35:29

OP
Your second post is a bit goady.
Yes there are

CuttedUpPear Tue 11-Mar-14 05:38:50

...sorry.
Yes there are other time zones but you're posting on a site based in the UK, you must know that.

Personally I find the research of Dr Robert Winston in this field very enlightening and far more understanding of the social pressures that have formed us.

FightingFires Tue 11-Mar-14 05:41:15

I'd quite like a dishwasher.

NoArmaniNoPunani Tue 11-Mar-14 06:07:06

I don't see how it's ground breaking, sounds a lot like what Nancy Friday did with My Secret Garden and Women on Top years ago.

glastocat Tue 11-Mar-14 06:10:07

I'd like a basket of kittens and a billion dollars.

Lazyjaney Tue 11-Mar-14 06:29:27

". er, the belief that female sexuality is dark and dangerous and nigh uncontrollable is very old. Like, Adam and Eve old"

True dat, it's hardly new news.

The Evo Psych types are in a bit of a tizzy I suppose.

coffeeinbed Tue 11-Mar-14 06:29:37

Can I have a reply to all the job applications I've been sending out?
I feel I'm cheating the thread though, because it's not very different from what a man would have wanted.
grin

UptheChimney Tue 11-Mar-14 06:55:09

What I really want ...
is a wife
a chauffeur
a gardener
a housekeeper
a personal secretary
someone to change my sheets every day
someone to open a couple of letters I really don't want to deal with

Does that help?

TheFabulousIdiot Tue 11-Mar-14 10:27:42

I could post a list of what i don't want. Would that help?
