Bathroom being done and need to choose some tiles. DH wants very clean, restful, all white look but I don't want it to be cold or clinical. Have stripped wooden floor, white suite, wooden tongue & groove panelling a third of the way up the walls. Blind and lampshade are dusky grey/blue colour. Walls will be painted either LG Slaked Lime or F&B Pointing. Woodwork incl panelling same colour or very slightly darker.
Need tiles to go above panelling around sink area (splashback) and along wall where bath is. No shower in the room.
I can't think at all what sort of tiles would look good and not make it look like a lab or morgue. Any ideas?

I'd look for some tiles that would be roughly same colour as your woodwork i.e. a warm off white. Mock stone of some sort would work.

these for example are very good (but pricey).

If you want two colours the same but one a bit darker than the other, Little Greene Slaked Lime works as they do it in various "strengths", but it could be hard trying to find a dark version of Pointing. May I suggest a look at the Paint & Paper Library who do loads of neutral colours in 5 different "strengths".

We're putting up white metro to with grey grout (but you can get other colours), bit boring and predictable I know but I still love them.

I had a similar sort of dilemma. Eventually have chosen these cheap as chips ones!
