OK, this week I am looking for words that have an 'eeeee' sound at the end as in 'he', 'we', 'she'...

Must have an eeee sound at the end but spelt with just 1 'e'.

Examples (this is actually all we have)
He
She
We
Be
Me

Not correct
Only
Mummy
See
Sea
etc...

Are there any others...am thinking there must be some longer words. This is for 6yos so not too obscure

Ta in advance

simile?

I think those are all the examples there are, sms. because e on it's own is actually one of the rarer spellings - more common are y, ie or ee. I think.

Yes we have a massive list of words ending in 'y' with the sound 'eeee'.

Simile is possibly a bit obscure but might get brownie points....

Are you allowed names? Greek ones are good, like Penelope, Persephone and Antigone.

Well we have used names on other lists...good idea.

What about Chloe...I guess that counts?

Apostrophe is a great one, as they deffo know what an apostrophe is (am trying to give them clues rather than a pre-written list )

synecdoche (poss. not for 6-y-os - just following the 'figures of speech' line of thought)

....will you come back for next weeks quest? this is a bloody weekly occurance. We normallu have one easly list (this weeks was the y at the end), and one trickier list - which I guess will be 'ie' (sounding like eeeeee).
