Has anyone applied for reception class online?

I have just completed dd's reception class application online. Has anyone else applied this way? Is it ok? I'm a bit nervous in case it hasn't got through or it gets deleted before the closing date or something

I did dd3s last week and have had an email confirming receipt so am assuming it's all ok. It's new to me as previously I just applied direct to the school.

If you know how to print screen and then paste it into word, then do that (if its not too late) then at least you have it directly to hand. Mine was fine though, and I got written confirmation but I rang them a couple of days after I had done it, and they could see it on the system.

I will do soon (doesn't have to be done until 19/12 here) and it'll be a first for me too. Our school is VA, so previously I've just had to apply directly to the school, but somewhere between DS2 and DD it's all changed. I now have to apply to the LEA (online) and then a supplimentary paper form to the school.

just got the letter with LEA's leaflet basically saying do it or be last... looks like that's tonight's next bit of entertainment. Like u HH, have vision of it flying round cyberspace and DS2 having no school place

I did for my dd last year - for somereason though the school (in our LEA) isn't notified of your existance until after the closing date for applications so we missed out on open days invites to school plays etc. Next time I'll probably give the school a ring to ask if they want to take my details too.

We did, but we had to send proof of address with a hard copy in the post, so I wasn't that worried. Why don't you ring the LEA to check?

I can't do mind until we move! and the chain has just broken down so unless the people buying our house sells theirs again very quickly we have to put ours back on the market..

We have until the middle of December to apply.. so getting very nervous as really don't want to be a late applicant as will then have no change of getting 1st choice (although until we visit the schools in question I am still not sure which one to pick) doesn't help that we currently live over 3 hours away...

anyone want to buy a house!....

I did it last year, DS got the school he wanted and is now well settled. They do confirm receipt so if you dont hear anything then I would chase it.

I did my sons nursery and reception place online.

it was fine

We got told that he got a place by email too. very easy.

I just did

might have made a mistake though because I only put 1 school down (out of choice of 4) because we live on next road, DS already at the school, DD already at the pre-school and I'm actively involved in the running of the school

do you think I should still ahve chosen other options?

I've applied for DS's online - we had an email receipt so I too hope it is OK .

Ours had to be in 28th September and we get told in December (for September 08 start).

I had to ring the school to tell them I'd chosen them, if I did it online.

Report

I had a letter from the LEA and one from the school both telling me how to apply.
