On the beach or in short tops that show the tummy.

It's nothing to do with them ffs.

'They want all the fattys off the beach' OMG.

One guy speaking sense though....

I wore a bikini on the beach. I was hot. I was on holiday.

I am so mad!!

Caller- I'm 5 months pregnant.

Wright stuff presenter- 'That's alright ,It's when your 7 months pregnant that we don't want to see you'

OMG now there's a woman saying that she finds it revolting. 'It's ok if she's covered in a floaty top....,then she can walk wherever she likes'
I can't believe I'm hearing this.

Tight clothes look horrible she's saying.

Isn't this appaling???

I would have thought nothing of it, and defended the point that baby bumps are absolutely georgeous... however... I accidentally found this photo the other day and now think that they are beautiful, provided they are presented in the right way...

Still it's nothing to do with me though...

Oh my, they are becoming worse and worse, aren't they

Report
princessmel · 17/06/2009 10:15

Totally out of order in my opinion.

Really offensive.

Saying they should be covered up and that they are horrible to look at.

F**K OFF Mr Wright.

I have no desire to look at anyone elses bump. I hate loathe and detest, this fashion for wearing tight clothes when pregnant.

I love my bump at the moment. I will not wear anything that actually shows skin (like cropped tops etc, apart from bikinis) but I do wear some tight things.

I am all for everyone's own opinion but the comments on this programme were very, very, ott.

just thinking about it!

Didn't see the program... I like tight clothes over a bump - wore them myself - but don't particularly want to see skin hanging out the bottom of a top that's too short. But that's just me.

I don't always want to see somebody's tummy/skin but that goes for all people not just pregnant women. I'm totally fine with bikinis whatever size and shape the person is because on a beach or in really hot weather its just appropriate!

And I love bumps and I love tight fitting clothes on a bump so you can see the shape. Its so much more attractive than wearing a sack. And comfy too, its quite supportive wearing close fitting clothes on your bump IMHO.

I have precisely one photograph of me pregnant, and that was taken because dp was in a different country at the time and wanted to see how things were developing.

I don't want to see my own bump, let alone anyone else's. Particularly if, as is usual, it's accompanied by a grubby thong poking out of the back of low-slung trousers.

It was the way he was all sneery and they were all laughing at how horrible it was. Even the mothers on the panel.

Well I guess everyone's entitled to their opinion..

I personally think baby bumps on show are fine, why not? It's hot, take your clothes off! Everyone else does.

And I think pregnant women in bikinis look lovely!!

LGJ

I looked fab yesterday even if I say so myself. In a stretchy red and white vest, quite tight fitting (H+M mama) and a denim (shortish) skirt (H+M mama).

With white flip flops and huge sunglasses.

But other days I wear smocky tops with leggins etc.

With my first pregnancy I felt so low because I felt I looked horrible the whole time. This time because I feel I look nice ,I feel so much better.

Totally agree about tight things being supportive.

My DH says that he can't stop smiling at pregnant ladies and their bumps since i've been pregnant. They ARE beautiful!

I personally wouldn't have skin on show but thats my own choice I have no problem with anyone else doing so. I do wear t shirts & Tops that stretch over the bump and think they look lovely.

Matthew Wright's a big stupid twat I wouldn't grant him a second thought.

It's hard enough trying to dress nicely when your pregnant. Why should we all have to 'cover up' in 'Fern Brittons old clothes'. What a cheek.

Grrggh! He's seriously annoyed me!

I'm currently wearing loose tops over my bump and I feel horrible! It makes me look so much bigger all over than I am (I think). So am going to buy close fitting stretchy T-shirts and don't care what anyone thinks.

Report
GoodWitchGlinda · 17/06/2009 10:52

Having said that, I do like bumps in bikinis! Just not hanging out a too-short t-shirt in the middle of asda (or wherever).

Mr Wright deliberately says things to wind people up. You just need to see it for what it is - a wind up. Like jonothan ross and the like, they do it on purpose to create debate.

I agree, I feel bigger in floaty things too. but not pregnancy bigger, just mahoosive bigger.

Agree Goodwitch re him saying things to cause debate. I was surprised the panel were all agreeing though. They only had one caller and she was a lady and DISagreed.

Before my recent holiday, my biniki concerns had nothing to do with my bump, my stretch marks look way nicer whilst pregnant. They are all smoothed out But more to do with finding a top big enough to fit my breasts in.

Who cares? It's a radio programme, they're entitled to have their opinion and if they think bumps look gross then sobeit. Obviously a section of the public also think bumps look gross or they wouldn't have an audience. But once again, who cares? I dislike low tight jeans worn with a cropped top with acres of blubber hanging over but each to their own, if someone fancies wearing it then I can always avert my eyes, I'm not obliged to look at them! Don't let it bug you, I'm sure you look lovely and carry on wearing whatever you like!

I will wear what I want. And I DO wear what I want.

I just was so riled at the comments he was throwing out.

And thought some of you might be interested in what the twit was saying.

(it was on channel 5 on tv btw)

Well it sounds like it had the effect he desired and has got his show a good bit of publicity ...

WTF are we expecting when he has employed people like this on his show.

It shows a total disregard for the hard work SAHMs do - why should being pregnant be any different.

I'll bet they'd love to stop BFing in public!

I don't find them revolting but I'm not all that keen if I'm honest. I don't find it an aesthetically pleasing sight. I kept mine well and truly hidden as I didn't much care for my body that way.

But it certainly doesn't bother me to see pregnant bellies. And I don't see why it upsets other people so much. Very odd.
