Want some cute unsentimental words for birth announcement

fisil · 13/04/2005 20:30

Last time I wrote "with ten little fingers and ten little toes!" at the bottom of the birth announcement. That's as slushy as I go.

So far all I can think of is ...

... thank f* that's all over

... starting bidding at £10

Maybe I'm just not in the right mood right now. Any ideas?

marthamoo - I like your last one, but Granny might be offended. The first one might do, though!

I've got all that already Beety, just seems oddly insufficient - like you should sign off.

No, nothing there that isn't slush, apart from a few 'hope you don't turn into as big a lush as your mummy'!
How about, 'Looking forward to seeing you grow up'?

The worst one I had, from a woman at dh's work who has 3 dd's, was "A boy..better luck next time!" Couldn't believe it, silly cow (I know she thought she was being funny but really [huffy emoticon])

Sorry, I had gone off at a tangent with TC there and moved on to congratulations cards!

fisil, have you seen that ebay site that sells bodysuits embroidered with all babe's vital stats? Then you take pic of babe with mum and dad (and big bro probably in your case) and that's your announcement.

Very very cute and no words needed. Want me to look?

how about something like

the ...... family are now 3/4 (whatever!) thanks to the arrival of baby ....... on ...... at ......... weighing in at .............

all donations of alcohol and pro plus will be gratefully received

How about "The Stork has been'
I don't think i'm very good at this.

Or
'It's a bbay'!

Errr, shall I just get my coat?!

I tried to describe them. Physically - long fingers, big feet, curly hair and generally - dainty, sleepy, smiley, loud (!), etc. Apart from hair colour all of the other characteristics were spot on!

JanH, oh queen of internet searches, I have already made the cards (plain white with a 3D felt nappy on the front - very cute - shall I send you one?). I like the idea, though, but not enough to have another baby just for the sake of it!

nailpolish, love the proplus/alcohol idea. Do you think Granny will?

Here - it's American but she does it the same day apparently so should get to you pretty fast.

They call a bodysuit an onsie apprently (onesie, maybe???)

You know my Granny? When I told her I was expecting, back in October (after having seen her 2 weeks before), I got a call from my Aunt that evening "Granny tells me you've just had another baby. I don't believe her."

I like babylocketsfroggy's member profile comment:

"She is nice we like her alot."

Might nick that.
