I drank 4 or 5 coffees, plus a couple of cups of tea throughout both pregnancies. My kids seem okay to me.

Haven't gone off coffee this time so still have 2 or 3 cups at work. And love tea so just drink, drink, drink it!

blossom, think it only a problem if you at increased risk of m/c. Even so it still is about 4/5 cups of coffee a day. If u are worried about it then do change to decaff, i have as used to like my coffee strong. Also chocolate contains caffine but think you'd have to eat loads to worry about the levels.Don't think what you drinking is enough to worry about though.

No, you're still OK, I thought I read that you shouldn't have more than 6 cups of coffee a day. I drank usually one coffee a day and the odd glass of wine and baby turned out fine!

I researched this when I was pregnant with DS (now nearly 4) because my normal intake of caffeine is 3 mugs of strong coffee a day. Have a look at this website which is pretty informative. Happy drinking.

On the Uni Sheffield, Centre for Pregnancy Nutrition site is a breakdown of the amounts of various caffeine-containing products (coffee, tea, chocolate, cola) that are considered safe to have in a day. (Can't find the address right now but you can use Google).

p.s. 1 cup of coffee and 2 of tea sounds fine.
