Plus size maternity clothes...

Anyone suggest reasonably priced shops? Everywhere online seems really expensive and Dorothy Perkins only has a limited range... Also ASDA and Tesco have both stopped their maternoty range!!!

To be honest I don't know what size! I WAS fitting into Debenhams size 16, but recently went to sty on their 18 and it was far far too small... sob, am scared to try bigger sizes especially since I have 13 weeks to go! Hadn't thought of Evans, will try there... cheers...

Where do you live? Some Asda store still stock materninty wear. If you are in the midlands try minworth.

i think it is the bigger asda's that still stock their maternity range - the one near us stopped but the one at Gravesend in Kent still had maternity clothes - bought some last June - could have stopped it since then.

Apparently H&M also have larger sizes in their maternity range but again not all of them stock maternity clothes. I actually asked in Evans and was told they did not do a maternity range. How pathetic larger ladies get pregnant too, it's not a monopoly held by skinny supermodels!!!!! I ought to know at a size 20.

mummyhill, you clearly must be mistaken. To have a baby, you pretty much have to have sex, and larger women do not have sex. Ew.

Most of my maternity clothes are from either Next or DP, which are mainly for work, I live in jogging bottoms and t-shirts really during the weekend, which I just got a size bigger from Matalan, who I find very reasonable. They don't do a maternity range, but they do elasticated waist trousers and skirts too which are difficult to find. Found the Mothercare range of clothes expensive for what they are.

hi im new here but thought id post anyway. i only have 6 weeks to go and i bought a really fab pair of jeans from mothercare they were £30 which i supose is quite expensive but the great thing is they have an elastic bit which u can ajust for different stages of pregnancy. u can also tighten them so they still fit after baby is born hope this helped. also i just bought trackies that were a size to big from new look cos they do + sizes

I lived in clothes a size bigger when pregnant with dd and got told i looked a mess most of the time, plus i wasn't really comfortable as they didn't always sit properly over bump so this time i splashed out on a couple of pairs of trousers and a pair of dungarees from mothercare. It was expensive but worth it I feel more comfy this time round and as i am only 14 weeks 26 to go this is important to me. Why is it you get so much bigger so much quicker after the first one?

i have a few maternity items size 20, all from next. i am trying to decide whether to hold onto them, or sell them, as they are good condition as didnt need maternity clothes with dd1+2, so all new this pregnancy. i dont feel my family is complete yet, but dont see myself having another baby for another 3-5years, so is it worth hanging onto them? argh.

anyway, look out in the for sale section, i may put them on here to sell.

If they are what my mum calls classic ie plain black trousers then it is worth keeping hold of them it saves money next time round but if they are fashionable then yeah sell them and buy new next time you feel frumpy otherwise.
