Has anyone bought anything nice lately? Everything I look at seems to be sold out! Due in November smile

Neutral is such a funny, trendy term. Mine were in white nightdresses until about six weeks. Completely neutral but we didn’t know it.

Helpful! hmm

I’ve seen some lovely stuff on h&m

userabcname Sat 11-Jul-20 09:33:09

H&M is good for neutrals I found. Just had a quick look on the website and they have some newborn size stock.

poppetpenguin Sat 11-Jul-20 09:36:40

Coming on to say H&M! We bought tons of their wrap over bodysuits all in neutral packs (
so no need to put over head) and they also have a very sweet welcome home style bundle in greys that's a couple of bodysuits, couple of leggings, romper hat and mittens that was such good value!

Another vote for H&M.

Following as we have started to shop for our new arrival. I didn't find much in primary which I was disappointed in but will have to have a look in H&M.

The "boys" selection in asda is fairly neutral and they have newborn stuff in stock. It is where I've bought most of my baby clothes from (I'm having a girl but prefer the boys selections in most shops!). Delivery is a bit slow but they keep you informed.

sel2223 Sat 11-Jul-20 10:05:54

I've just got some lovely white and grey bits from next.

Hatscats Sat 11-Jul-20 10:06:36

Sainsburys Tu has some nice ones, you have to keep checking though as they sell out fast!

WeeScottishWife Sat 11-Jul-20 10:09:34

We don't want too much white (think other things will hide stains better), and aren't huge fans of pink, so most of our little girl's first outfits are from the 'boys' section of shops - she has lots of cute & colourful things with dinosaurs on them. Asda & Morrisons are mostly where I bought from.

Avearage Sat 11-Jul-20 10:09:36

Asda had some whites and grey dumbo bits.... To be honest I'm struggling online every thing I wanted was sold out in that size and in store most places look like they have been raided!!

GoshHashana Sat 11-Jul-20 10:23:39

Supermarket basics are good, I've found. I'm having a DD but trying to avoid an onslaught of baby pink, so mainly going for whites and greys. I've also had some luck on eBay, searching 'unisex newborn', if you're ok with second hand.

PenguinBarnotBird Sat 11-Jul-20 10:25:13

I dunno how much you will actually need? With mine they were really only in whites/greys on day 1 as we hadn’t known if boy/girl prior to birth. Once baby arrived visitors landed in with blue/pink outfits pretty sharpish.

BlingLoving Sat 11-Jul-20 10:30:39

I bought a lot of white/cream/grey from Boots. But tbh, that was a while ago. Not sure what it's like.now. most of it bought originally for ds nearly 10 years ago but did top up for dd about 5 years ago.

peachypetite Sat 11-Jul-20 10:37:50

Yeh I agree about pink/blue onslaught. Even once it’s here I still like the more neutral tones!

Boots mini club have lots of bright rainbow colours

Dollywood Sat 11-Jul-20 10:40:18

Sorry realise you mean neutral tones rather than 'gender specific' pink or blue.

SleepingStandingUp Sat 11-Jul-20 10:42:52

Depends on how you define neutral. We brought neutral for DC1 as we didn't know what it would be, so raided primarily the boys aisle. Reds, greens, yellows, oranges, blue, animal that weren't bunnies or kitties, Robots. I'd consider that all neutral in which case pretty much any boys section. The blue grey khaki onslaught doesn't kick in til they're older

We didn't find out what we were having so got lots of neutrals mainly from Joules, Next and John Lewis. Some of the stuff we bought possibly does lean a bit boyish - a Peter Rabbit babygrow from Jojo, one from Joules with little tractors and sheep on - but not overly so.

Are you having a surprise?

peachypetite Sat 11-Jul-20 10:53:06

Yes not finding out smile

We got most of ours from Matalan, lovely selection of neutral greys, beige, animals etc. DH went to Tesco for more bits after DD was born and still came back with robots and tractors outfits and she looked super cute in those too!

DerbyshireGirly Sat 11-Jul-20 11:12:23

@peachypetite brilliant decision, it was amazing having my husband tell me we'd had a girl after all the hard work of labour, you'll be so glad you waited smile

Hanrora06 Sat 11-Jul-20 12:01:18

OK now I've started scrolling through H&M and have already filled my favourites list lol there is some cuttttteeee stuff!!!! little babygrows with hedgehogs!! I have barely looked at all tbh but the stuff really is adorable. my favourites are definitely the animal stuff but there is so much nice stuff on there. plus i found a baby unisex custom bundle on eBay which would be a nice sort of 'mystery box'.
