Hi
Has anyone found anywhere you can buy reasonably priced petite maternity clothes? Mainly looking for leggings & jeans - ASOS does a range but has been out of stock in my size for a while now!
Thanks

I've had the same issue, it's really difficult!! New Look is by far the best I've found for maternity jeans in shorter leg length. Their stock is really low at the moment though so it's a bit hit and miss on sizes available!

Set an alert for ASOS to send you a message when they come back into stock. I got a pair of leggings that way. I had been checking for weeks but the stock seems to come in and go again instantly.

H&M have great jeans for the smaller builds!

Most other brands I know are Australian based so unless you're here it may not be as helpful- Ripe Maternity, Bae the label, maive and bo

Next were the only place I found. Apparently it’s illegal to be simultaneously short, fat and pregnant!

Snap ended up with boohoo and they're huge, newlook leggings were marginally better think I'll end up in jumpsuits and maxi dresses 😂

I got some petite leggings from H&M. Love leggings had petite in stock too.

Thanks everyone - love leggings looks like a good shout. Did you just buy your usual size?

Just to say New Look Jeggings in a 28 inch leg, are a perfect fit/length.

I've also got H&M Mama in ankle length. Slightly looser around the bottom, as they are obviously meant to come -up shorter on your average height person, but are full length on me.

I’ll second Love Leggings, Im 5”2 and the full length are a great length on me. The waistband has twisted after one wash though which I’m not thrilled about.
On sizing, I’m a size 12 in everything but came out a 14 on their size guide so got a 14, they’re about right and plenty of space to grow, but I think the 12 probably would have fit better (as I’m just about comfort and sitting at home right now it’s fine) so I’d go for your usual size

H&M super skinny jeans are a good fit, will probably still be too long in the leg but I just roll hyphen up but they are actually skinny and in 5 foot 1

Top shop have really good maternity jeans for petite! They come in leg length :)

Oh and I’ve ordered some of the H&M mama jeans but a looser fit I plan to roll up, so matters less if they’re too long. They’re raw hem so can always chop the bottom off if need be

Love leggings are the best leggings I've ever had. Honestly wish I had brought them sooner !
Boo hoo do some cheap tops and stuff they have a sale on. I just go between two sets of leggings and my H&M maternity jeans and a handful of tops.

Please can I ask what's so good about Love Leggings? I've heard them mentioned on here a lot and have never heard of them before...

Report
BuffaloCauliflower · 24/05/2020 11:16

@Clemmie83 they’re nice and thick and soft, the fit is good too. Though as I said up thread mine have gone weird at the waistband after one wash, which I’ve emailed them about. I did tumble dry them but I feel should be able to do that with leggings!? I’ve never had this happen so quickly even with cheaper leggings

I also highly recommend LoveLeggings - absolutely worth the money. They are thick, not see through and very good quality. I do also have a cheap, lightweight pair of Boohoo leggings that came in an ebay bundle (which were longer so I had to hem them) for wearing under summer dresses but they look cheap and nasty by comparison.
I also have a pair of Dorothy Perkins regular length jeans which are the right length (I am 5'3")
If you have a sewing machine it is super easy to hem most items, though, including jeans :-)

Another Love Leggings fan here 🙋🏻‍♀️ I was a bit sceptical because every advert I seen had all glowing reviews in the comments and I assumed it was just all paid reviews but I ordered 2 pairs and will be ordering more. Nice and thick so not see through but still soft and comfortable. And my favourite part - no baggy knees like with some cheaper leggings!! Lol. Come in short, regular and tall and loads of colours. Ordered my normal size and fit great and have plenty of stretch for a growing bump 😊

I'm sold! Have ordered some from love leggings, given leggings are pretty much all I wear these days Smile

Boohoo is appalling quality. I’ve ordered some love leggings petite and got some loose cotton maxi dresses from Sainsbury's to tide me over the hot days.

peachypetite · 26/05/2020 08:28

Forgot to say - Sainsbury’s do petite and cotton/linen instead of polyester.

I'm size 6/8 pre pregnancy. I really recommend jojo maman Bébé, it was pretty good value! Way more comfortable than most the asos stuff I bought. You only need a few key items, like I bought a pair of maternity jeans for about 25-30 quid which isnt too bad, and a pair of work trousers for the same price (which I've hardly worn because of lockdown!). And then one or two dresses. Oh and I got a stretchy over bump skirt from h+m for about 15 pounds. And then for tops, I just bought like two nice ones from jojo and asos and for the rest I just got men's t shirts to lounge around in... after all we're all locked down! All in all, you can get totally fitted up for about 150 if you don't mind doing laundry often. (Except bras and knickers...I've spent so much on bras because i bought a few then got even bigger and had to buy more aaargh)

For leggings, I just got h+m size medium (I'd usually be S or XS) and wear them low slung. Comfy, does the job, no need to buy anything special. I wear them for workouts too

Uniqlo does maternity clothes and it's a Japanese brand so definetly smaller sizes available.

(Ps again) I admire the PP who can hem at home! I need these skills! I just wear my jojo jeans with turn ups at the bottom and they look sort of cute and casual.

This has been my biggest bug bear since finding out I was pregnant! 😂 why do so few places do a petite maternity range?! 🤯 I know a few people have already suggested new look for petite mat jeans but River Island and Topshop do them too. Obvs pricier than NL but there's loads for sale on eBay 😊

Has anyone managed to find any petite maternity maxi dresses please? It's so hot at the mo that I want to wear a dress but I'm no good with a needle and thread so daren't buy a normal maternity maxi dress as I'll be tripping up 😂

xx
