dark THIN blue line positive test result?

I’ve got a very dark blue line on my pregnancy test this morning but it’s very thin with the rest faint. I had a one day heavy period 3 days ago so didn’t think I was pregnant ( also we only did the deed once this month as decided to stop trying during the pandemic) but thought I’d check as I’ve never had a one day period. Any advice on this? Can’t figure out how to send an image

It’s hard to tell without seeing it. I’m guessing you don’t have another test?

You can't post pics as a new member for 48 hours.
It's difficult to say without seeing it but blue dye tests get a lot of negative feedback on here. Can you get hold of a pink dye test? First response early result are the best or even just a cheapie from the coop.

Taking first response in the morning. But can finally add a picture- what you think? As the line is only thin- but it’s definitely blue...

It looks like a faulty test.

They always look like that IME. It's one if the only brands you can get where I am, so I've taken them a few times. That's a positive test.

Looks positive to me

That's clear blue though, isn't it?

That's how mine looked too. As you can tell by the other pregnancy tests I was definitely Pregnant.

It’s a cheapy Tescos - hence why I’m being more cautious about the thin line outcome. Will let you what the first response says in the morning. Xx

Yeah the ones I've highlighted are the cheap tescos one too. I'm sure I've still got it somewhere along with the other 36 tests I did 😂 I'll see if I can get a more clearer photo of it. Found it. It's not as clear now it's been sat in my draw for the last 6-7 months xx

Ah yes generic, that makes more sense! I just meant it's not a first response branded one.

Yes I do think they do this. By cheapy I tend to think of the pound shop or internet bulk buy ones.

Just did a first response and it’s negative so not meant be this month. We will be waiting after the pandemic has calmed now.I think I’ll be going for the pink dyes from now on. Good luck to you all xx

I’m really surprised you’re not pregnant OP. Dig you first response out the bin and look at it again. I found in the early days of pregnancy it was so common to test positive, then negative, then positive as the strength of your wee was so important.

Nooo, don't dig it out the bin and look at it again! The result has to be checked within the stated time frame for it to be valid otherwise it's more likely to be an evap line.

I vote dig it out lol.

Ooops, pressed send too soon....

Sorry it's not the result you wanted OP.

There's no such thing as an evap line. If there's a coloured line, you're pregnant.

sel2223 · 03/05/2020 08:49

@justanotherneighinparadise really? Why?

Even if it had a line, it would then just be another 'is this a BFP or an evap' post which none of us would be able to answer so then it would just be a case of retesting again another day....might as well just skip to the doing another test if OP is still of the opinion she might be pregnant.

@Rain1 are you kidding? There are threads on MN everyday showing evap lines from people who don't turn out to be pregnant.
I've had one myself!

Because I’ve pissed on a million sticks in the time I was madly trying to conceive and the true Evaps I had were in single figures. I could indeed be a faulty test, but I’d be really interested to know how that First Response dried. If it dried with a line I think the OP might still be in with a chance. If it dried blank she still might be in with a chance as false negatives are extremely common before AF is due.

So your advice really is to retest then?
