Sorry to be intrusive, just trying to tell myself that it's not unusual to happen right away!

How long were you trying before you got your bfp? 🙂

Millsss Mon 02-Dec-19 17:13:23

Hi hun it definitely isn’t unusual! I’m currently 35 weeks today and it took 3 months which felt like a lifetime but realistically was pretty quick!!!

Hugsandpastries Mon 02-Dec-19 17:21:20

First time - 2 months, then a miscarriage, then 1 month
Second time - less than 2 weeks! In my late 30s.

Good luck, hope you get yours soon.

nevergettingalong Mon 02-Dec-19 17:25:50

First cycle. I know this is not really the usual though.

Marshmallow1992 Mon 02-Dec-19 17:26:54

9th cycle.

HalfPenny28 Mon 02-Dec-19 17:41:31

Thank you! Wow such a varied ranged!

Was there anything you did differently on the month you conceived? Now going into my third cycle and it already feels like we've been trying forever!

MockingJay27 Mon 02-Dec-19 18:00:59

2nd cycle. Only difference was, I took an evening primrose capsule each morning up to ovulation. I had read it helps produce more cervical mucus. Might have been coincidence though. But their so cheap was worth a go.

essexanon Mon 02-Dec-19 18:29:01

Me and my partner said we would start trying in January.
However, we Only did the deed once during the cycle, I wouldn’t of been ovulating according to dates and I have PCOS yet somehow I’m pregnant!

I literally couldn’t understand how and done like 5 tests lol. Just goes to show you, it can happen at any time and under any circumstances.

Congratulations to all! I’m still going through a range of emotions from dread to excitement! Xx

3 years and a round of ivf x

mrsg101 Mon 02-Dec-19 18:37:52

Fell pregnant first cycle, first time DTD unprotected after 10 years together! We know we are so lucky, really didn’t expect it to happen straight away!

becca3210 Mon 02-Dec-19 18:47:12

Was 7/8 months. It happened when I started to chill out a bit and not obsess over whether we had dtd enough on the peak fertility days (was using the clear blue ovulation trackers) and just dtd when I felt like it.

Addicted89 Mon 02-Dec-19 18:48:17

First pregnancy-2 cycles after coming off the pill(had been in it for 10 years) unfortunately ended in miscarriage
Current pregnancy- nearly a year of very irregular cycles, got pregnant after about 4 regular cycles.
Good luck and try to relax, we got pregnant when we were on holiday and I’m convinced it was because we both so relaxed and not worrying about TTC.

newmammy2 Mon 02-Dec-19 18:50:45

Nearly 2 years.

MusingCruising Mon 02-Dec-19 18:52:24

1st DC took 27 months
Fell pregnant 13 months later with DC 2 and 13 months after that fell pregnant with DC3

Been trying for DC4 for nearly 2 years now and nothing happened yet,

Jesskir89 Mon 02-Dec-19 19:01:06

maxy2019 Mon 02-Dec-19 19:21:42

Hello ladies! sorry I’ve jumped on board this post as I’m not sure how to do a new one! I am so confused... 5 mins after taking a test today it was negative I thought there might of been a faint line but I think my eyes were playing up... I left my test for a few hours and now shows positive (thinking evaporation line!?).. Confused for sure... feel like my periods going to come but boobs feel super heavy and nipples feel so sore to touch.. don’t normally get hormonal boobs on my periods, every so often maybe but rarely
... did anyone feel like they were going to have their period but came on? sad I am an endometriosis sufferer as well so not
Sure if my endo is making me feel sick but having waves of nausea Xxxx

maxy2019 Mon 02-Dec-19 19:22:49

Congratulations!!! Amazing news!!!

HalfPenny28 Mon 02-Dec-19 19:28:15

Thank you all so much 💕 the first two cycles I have been quite uptight I suppose with tracking ovulation and making sure we dtd on the right days.

Might give this cycle a more relaxed approach and see what happens!

Tinkerbell19 Mon 02-Dec-19 19:45:17

1st pregnancy 3 years
2nd wasn't trying - missed the pill and didn't use other form of protection.
3rd pregnancy 2nd cycle
4th wasn't trying - missed the pill again and didn't use other form of protection

squirrelnutkins1 Mon 02-Dec-19 19:47:28

19 months, ended in mc.
8 months following that I've recently had my BFP. Here's hoping it's a sticky bean!!

Turt Mon 02-Dec-19 19:54:32

Currently just over 28 weeks and got my BFP on cycle 3. Can't provide specific months as I had irregular length periods! Good luck thanks

Alderaan Mon 02-Dec-19 20:07:02

Sixteen months. I'd come to terms with the fact it wasn't meant to be, and even got myself a new job, deciding instead to focus on my career. I just didn't expect it to take that long, especially given that my fourteen year old daughter was a happy accident when I was in an almost celibate relationship at the time!

Mum2b2020 Mon 02-Dec-19 20:12:40

1st month then mc then 1st month again.

We gave it everything though. I tracked my basal temperature every morning, did opks, and timed it.

On the second time I was worried my body might not have reset so also used Pre-seed (lube). A friend who was trying for several months used that and got pregnant first time and highly recommend it.

Mum2b2020 Mon 02-Dec-19 20:15:18

I also ate a whole pineapple, including the core a couple of days after ovulation. I know it's just an old wives tale about helping implantation but i tried it the first time and I got pregnant so I gave it a go again the second time...hmm

mrssunshinexxx Mon 02-Dec-19 20:16:37

7 months- happened when I chilled the hell out

MrsSokhi Mon 02-Dec-19 20:18:22

2 months
10 years on the pill, we waited 4 months to try due to my brothers wedding being in May 2020. Good job we did.
It did however take 4 months for my cycles to get to any normal state

Good luck xx

MumOf1plusBump Mon 02-Dec-19 20:21:11

First time, it took over a year. It finally happened when we'd given up on trying 'naturally' and had booked an appointment for tests the next month (which we then no longer needed).

The second time round it happened on the very first go! I mean we literally had sex oncegrin and that was it!

paperplant Mon 02-Dec-19 20:26:28

6-7 months for first pregnancy i think, second month the second. (we'd just stopped using protection, didn't monitor ovulation. I used an app to track periods and sex, and couldn't really match up any conception with my supposed ovulation after finding out I was pregnant, both times). didn't do anything different that i'm aware of!

someone once told me if you've been trying for a year and nothing's happened, you might want to start investigating fertility - not sure how correct that is but don't get too worried after just 3 months!

Bol87 Mon 02-Dec-19 20:38:31

First pregnancy - three cycles but I realised we completely missed ovulation on the first, I had v irregular cycles.

Second pregnancy - three cycles.

Didn’t do anything differently on the cycles, I took a very measured approach of it’ll happen when it’ll happen. I didn’t cut any food out, I still had wine, caffeine etc.. I carried on life as normal. I’d have gone insane otherwise. I was at GoApe the day before my missed period this pregnancy.. I knew I might be pregnant but decided to just go have fun as I don’t test until I’ve missed my period. But to caveat, I do fully appreciate I’ve had no fertility issues so have been able to be relaxed.

I took my folic acid & we used conceive+ lube.. I tracked ovulation with cheap internet sticks the second time round as conceiving a baby is a hell of a lot harder when you have a toddler who loves wandering into your room at any given moment & when you are blooming exhausted from said toddlers lack of sleep..

You’ll find a huge range of answers from your question, sadly none of them will tell you your answer.. just a case of hoping & waiting 🧡

Lsquiggles Mon 02-Dec-19 20:39:19

First cycle smile

rosamundos Mon 02-Dec-19 20:52:23

First pregnancy - 2nd cycle (super lucky)
Second pregnancy - 5th cycle (as I'd booked an appointment for fertility testing). Ended in miscarriage at 10 weeks
Third pregnancy - 3rd cycle post miscarriage (might have been the 2nd, as the first cycle was a bit weird).

I 100% freaked out when it didn't happen immediately, and it really doesn't help I'm 36 with all the scare stories about age.

buddhababy2019 Mon 02-Dec-19 21:09:41

With my first baby 6 months. With this one we tried for 8 years and had given up before ending up conceiving whilst on the pill!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri Mon 02-Dec-19 22:09:22

DD1 - 2nd cycle
DD2 - 1st cycle

I appreciate how lucky we are for it to happen so quickly both times

MsChatterbox Mon 02-Dec-19 22:11:40

1st child 1st cycle, second pregnancy (now pregnant) 6th cycle. The month I conceived with second I did opks and used loads of preseed. Also raised my hips after dtd for good 30 mins. 1st child I was just extremely lucky didn't use opks or anything.

thatwasMauijustmessingaround Mon 02-Dec-19 22:16:16

First cycle then loss at 13 weeks
5th cycle, currently 39 weeks

DramaAlpaca Mon 02-Dec-19 22:19:36

DC1 - 11 months
DC2 - first time of trying
DC3 - four months

Chlosavxox Mon 02-Dec-19 22:20:44

First pregnancy I got pregnant first time - right after coming off the pill too! Sadly ended in MC

This pregnancy I got pregnant on my 2nd cycle, still very early days though so hoping things go okay this time

Chlosavxox Mon 02-Dec-19 22:21:15

My mom and dad got pregnant pretty much first time with us 4 kids so idk whether it's genetic or just pure luck smile

Boobahs Mon 02-Dec-19 22:24:09

8 months. Both times.

Greenleafer19 Mon 02-Dec-19 23:19:56

3 years... 2 failed ivf cycles.. Conceived naturally, due in Feb xxx

MissPepper8 Mon 02-Dec-19 23:23:37

18 months, I had a miscarriage and then 3 weeks later BFP. I tested religiously with first try.

This time 2 months, we weren't really testing the previous month. I only tested the second month cause I felt sick as a dog and I had a niggle I was.

SmoothOrange Tue 03-Dec-19 12:44:12

1st cycle of iui, currently 13w 4d

elliejjtiny Tue 03-Dec-19 12:55:22

5 of those bfp's are my dc and 3 were miscarriages

CluelessNewMama Tue 03-Dec-19 13:32:08

1st cycle but think this is unusual so we must have just got lucky. We did DTD every day (sometimes twice!) for about two weeks cause I wasn’t sure when I would be ovulating. I think DH was probably a bit gutted we didn’t get to ‘try’ for longer. 😂 Good luck, hope you get your BFP soon!
