Thought it would be nice to share how others are feeling at this stage!?
I’ve actually felt worse physically this second trimester than I did first. My anxiety has eased though which is a bonus.. feel like times going quick but still feel ages from due date....
Look forward to hearing from others 💜

I'm a week ahead of you but a FTM. I change from feeling nervous and then excited but am definitely feeling physically better than I did in the first trimester (although have a horrid headache today!). How are you feeling worse? Sick or more tired? Or something else?

I'm looking forward to getting past summer as I'm permanently hot. I just want to wear normal clothes again.

I'm also looking forward to having a winter baby and a quiet Xmas with me baby and DP then enjoy next summer when they aren't so little Grin

Yes, 22 weeks today, ftm. December feels ages away, i can't wait. Feeling a bit crap today though even though i dragged myself out.

I'm glad you're anxiety has subsided. The first trimester i think is mentally quite difficult and full of worry!

22+5 here 👋
Feeling quite hormonal this week as just look fat and certainly do not have a nice rounded bump. Otherwise physically fine apart from the occasional heartburn.

Also looking forward to a quiet Xmas with baby and DH Smile

Nice to hear from you ladies 💜 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Has anyone bought anything yet?? I haven’t done anything!

I’m just feeling really wiped and tired! Like my energy has been zapped. I’m alright in the day but now I’ve sat down could easily fall asleep x

Congratulations too!

I have bought a pram as it was the one I wanted at a ridiculous price. I also have a little soft rattle for the baby as I felt that I needed to get something for them if that makes sense. Otherwise not much else. Will do nearer the time.

Bless you it is horrid when the exhaustion hits. I'm finding myself taking longer with house work etc but I think it is best just to take the time you need. Have a little nap if you need it.

I'm also feeling huge without much bump just expanding all over. I'm sure a lovely bump will be here soon Smile

@AndBeholdAWhiteHorse- which pram have you bought? I haven’t even started looking! Did you just buy it online?
I have the occasional nap in the day but sometimes struggle to switch off....
Do you know what you’re having? X

@kate3150

I got a Silver Cross Pursuit from Mothercare online. It was under half price and my reasoning for wanting it is that it only has one attachment i.e. no carrycot then the pushchair bit. It's just one system from birth. It also fits nicely in the car where it will live and is easy to collapse (fool proof). Also didn't need a car seat attachment as I'm planning a Joie i-size 360 carseat as it stays in the car and easy to get baby out Smile will buy at a Mothercare evening event I'm going to so I get the 10% off.

I know what you mean about switching off. I found listening to some quiet music helped me to unwind and stop thinking; a dark room too.

I do! I'm having a little boy Grin what about you? X

@AndBeholdAWhiteHorse- Ahhh so exciting, we’re both having a boy!!!!!

I think about names all the time... I love the name Theo, Hubby wants us to do some more research before making a decision. I had my girl name all picked so it’s been tricky narrowing down a boys name.

I’ve got used to the kicks now... at first it was a bit freaky but now I love it. He’s very responsive if I tap my tummy he tends to reciprocate with a kick.

That sounds a very nice pram! I would like to go and physically look at one rather than the internet just to get a feel of what it’s like pushing one around. Not many places near me, everything is online nowadays!!! X

@kate3150 it seems like lots of boys are being born this year Grin I honestly didn't mind but I'm glad I know because the name debate can commence. I had a girl's name too but boys is much harder imo. Theo is lovely though. I do like the short names which suit baby teenager and man. To me it is important.

That's amazing having such a response. I haven't tried but I tend to get kicks in the morning around lunch and dinner or bed time. I find it so reassuring and it is lovely.

If you can get to a Mothercare go. They are fantastic. I tried the pram there and the lady showed me how it all works etc. They know their stuff. I bought online when I saw that they had a sale on. It has only come out the box to check everything is in there and now it is safely away.

I understand your pain re online. Maternity clothes is my bugbear Hmm x

I’m 23+1! Having a boy too!

His kicks are so strong now that we can see when he kicks under my clothes. I love laying on the bed with my belly out though as he wriggles around so much - it’s like he’s doing the worm!

We have our pram, car seat, rocker, cot, snuzpod...we’ve been really organised x

Is anybody suffering with bad sickness? I’m 23 weeks and was quite lucky to begin with and no sickness but it’s getting me down now. I have such bad acid reflux and sickness. Every time I burp I bring my food up and I can’t keep many meals down Sad

I’m due on Dec 29th so yeah in between Christmas and new year. I obviously don’t mind what I’m having but have a feeling it’s a girl since there’s a lot of girls on my fiancés side of the family 😂

StephRae · 10/08/2019 23:30

@bobble53 it’s not as bad now but I suffered from really bad sickness and acid reflux right up until 16 weeks so I know what you mean, I would suggest something to help but nothing really worked for me.

Hi! I’m 21+1, ftm and due 20th Dec. Feel exited but also terrified! Have bought pram and car seat but that’s it. Still got plenty of time to get everything else though Smile

@StephRae I’m drinking gaviscon from the bottle! I hope it settles soon as it honestly is so depressing now. Roll on December for us all 🙈

I’m a first timer too, 21.2 so due 19 Dec.
My second scan isn’t until Monday so don’t know what we are having yet, I think boy but everyone else in my life has guessed girl for all kinds of reasons (degree of sickness, shape of bump, heart rate at scan 1). It’s quite funny to find out how many “signs” people see, interested to know the truth.

I was feeling very sick until about 19 weeks but doing so much better now, just the occasional bout of heartburn. I’m sorry to hear some of you are still struggling.

Hi! I'm 22+3 & having a girl. I'm also a ftm. I've still got a few things to get.

Arya - everyone told me it was a girl too but I was sure a boy. She's currently kicking like mad lol.

@GrannyClanger- You’re right there’s still plenty of time. I am usually quite organised so I’m finding it hard not to just get started but something is holding me back at the moment. Hopefully in a couple more weeks I’ll feel more relaxed and confident to buy some bits.
The temptation to just buy the whole baby boys section of The White Company is very very strong 😂.
Do you know what you’re having? Have you thought about what you’ll do for Xmas!? It’s so hard to make any concrete plans. If only our due date was the date they could be sure about x

@ohdearymemumof3- my goodness you’ve done so much more than me!!!!
I’ve done and bought.... NOTHING 😂.
It just doesn’t feel the right time for me now although I’m desperate to buy some baby clothes. I’m feeling a bit intimidated by all the bigger bits like cot, pram etc... I really don’t know where to start. What would you say are the bare essentials furniture wise?? X

@Kate3150 I’m the same, exactly halfway through my pregnancy today and still feel like there’s so much to get! I also haven’t even got the cot or pram. I’ve gotten a few bits of clothing but most waiting to after I find out the gender and I know I’ll get loads from the family as well. Doesn’t help that we’re so busy, I’m still working full time as a health care assistant atm 😩
