Pregnancy

Symptoms- these were totally undersold

Lightheaded I can't believe what's happening to my body moment!
I feel like as amazing as pregnancy is we were definitely undersold the wonderful combination of symptoms available.😂
Right now (forgetting the constant vomiting I had until 25 weeks), at 37+5 I'm sporting.
Nausea
Headaches
PGP
Cramps
A foot permenantly lodged in my rib
Back ache
Piles (!?!)
Heartburn
A pinched nerve under my left boob
An impressive UTI with which the antibiotics have given me a lovely case of thrush.
Also didn't realise how difficult getting out of bed or off the couch would be.

Not moaning it's more making me laugh at how much is changing every day. It'll all be worth it when my baby girl arrives in a few weeks :)

So hit me with some of the stuff you have now or didn't expect.

Ughh the heartburn!! It is awful. Turning over in bed is just a disaster. It's so difficult and painful!

Yep!
Also: sore gums!

Never mind the pregnancy horror show.
Nobody told me about the first poo afterwards.

4 years & I'm still mentally scarred.
Second time I went into hospital armed with dried fruit and prune juice and refused all codine Grin

Yes rolling over in red shouldn't be this hard! Forgot about the bleeding gyms it's been so long without blood 🤨
OK now I'm panicking about the first poo and WHAT is lightning crotch!? 😲

Lightening crotch is frigging awful! It’s like being electrocuted in the vagina over and over. And it comes from nowhere!

I’m 35 weeks and I’ve just got my first hemmorhoid and it hurts so bad. I never had these until I gave birth before, but wowwowowow this is awful

Lightening crotch! Ha.. never heard that term before but totally know what you mean

The first poo after my first birth was fucking hideous. I didn’t go for a fortnight because I was terrified. I had stitches right into my butt cheek and they split open after a few days and got infected. The pain was hideous. When I eventually did go for a poo it cut my arsehole open, blood was literally pouring out. The pain doesn’t end at birth guys!!!
Also the leaking tits. Sexy AS HELL. I would wake up with a drenched bed every morning regardless of how many pads I had stuffed in my bra.

Gas.

I spent several months of my pregnancy so full of upper digestive tract gas that I would have gladly paid someone to puncture me with a hairpin and relieve the pressure.

It wouldn't have been so bad except I have never been able to belch.

Nosebleeds every morning!!! Didn't realize maneuvering in and out of bed would be so hard! 39 weeks today and the size of a house Confused

Is lightning crotch the same as fanny daggers? When baby kicks you in the fanjo?!! During my last preg most of my eyelashes fell out in one eye. That was sad.

Smellyjo · 19/04/2018 21:03

BUT it's worth a mention that my pregnancy wasn't as full of horrid symptoms as yours has been, it was just life with a small baby I found shockingly difficult- however I gather that for some women who have really difficult pregnancies, having a baby feels like a piece of piss. Hope that's the case for you!

Spots, burping, hiccups, sickness that lasts waaay beyond 12 weeks, sore boobs, smelly wee, toxic farts - and I'm only 17 weeks! Whoever mentioned the pregnancy glow can fuck right off Wink

Eat ALL the fruit you possibly can and drink ALL the water. Third time round I was ready for that arse bastard and I was fine. The midwives were laughing at me because I was so determined not to have the shite of death but I was right!

Whoever came up with the term "pregnancy is not an illness" can absolutely sod off!! Must have been a man.

(UTI followed by thrush... Know your pain).

Omg i am roaring laughing😂😂
This post had cheered me up so much! Fanny daggers is a very apt description! Im 35+3 and am literally on all fours on my bed trying to negotiate my unborn daughters feet away from my cervix (shes footling breech ).
Havent slept a wink all night with heartburn and when i did doze off i jumped up vomiting in my mouth (no amount of pillows help).
As for turning over in bed...forget it, im gonna end up with bedsores. Feel like a turtle on its back.
This is my third pregnancy and its killing me. Clicky pelvis waddle walk, head in my ribs meaning i cant breathe, feet like 2 baps, varicose veins, swollen ladies bits, piles. Pregnancy is delightful lol

I took ex lax into hospital with baby number 2 I was on iron tablets and constipated as hell

Pooping in labour not fun

Report
annandale · 21/04/2018 07:15

I had 2 litres of water and a pack of fybogel in my hospital bag because I was so worried about the first poo. Having spent the first 2 hours of full on labour on the toilet in between contractions, there was no issue for a loooooong time (and then it was fine).

I had carpal tunnel syndrome from 20 weeks onwards.

This is a amazing you spend all this time worrying about pregnancy symptoms you don't even think about how you're going to feel post birth! More worrying about the after poo now than labour 😂 I'm going to prepare!

Spent a sleepless night last night with various things stinging and itching and a baby that refuses to move from my right side so sleeping on that is now a no go. Every time I try I get a jab in the rib AND the hip

Ask for lactulose when they come round with the painkillers post birth. I did this with both DC2 and DC3, helped massively with the first poo!

Arse bastard continued for a year after birth and now 28 weeks with no2. Every time I go is carnage. The only thing in my birth plan is not to get constipated this time. Give me ALL your tips, please!

Do not strainfor the poo

Can cause prolapse

Take the laxatives

Omg I see why you are determined regarding arse bastard Shock. Prunes daily are helping me and lots of water but your situation sounds serious man, I'm not sure those are tips that will even touch the sides...

OP, pad of tissue with some pressure on the perineum whilst you do the first poo for support. And also a few friends or MNers knowing that you are going through it for support! Two of my friends talked me through it by text haha!

30 weeks and walking like I've pooed myself due to a swollen achy fanjo 😌 due to baby's position I can feel her hiccups in my bottom mostly, it's very strange
