Would you eat nuked Chinese leftovers from the day before yesterday? I totally would before pregnancy but doubt I should now?? 11 weeks... Really want to eat it!

Meat, yes. Rice. No.

If by nuked you mean microwaved then no

It will be chewy and bland

Just order a new Chinese

I wouldn't pregnant or not.

Never rice and I'm not fussy

Did it make you sick before? It won't make you any more sick now than it did before pregnancy, so if you would have done it then, I would do it now. But yes, definitely. I ate a cream filled pastry last week that last out of the fridge for 12 hours when it shouldn't have, then got refrigerated for another 4 days and was a day out of date. It smelled and tasted fine, so it seemed fine enough to eat.

Rice, never and I once read about a chef who would never eat beansprouts because they're grown in warm water, and so are full of bacteria and it completely put me off them!

I perversely quite like it microwaved and all mixed together. Filth I know.
So apart from the rice some of you would then...

I totally would, if we ever kept leftover Chinese, which we don't.

I got horrendous food poisoning from reheated Chinese when I was pregnant (on the back of hyperemesis) and ended up being hospitalised so I'm definitely in the don't do it camp!

Report
Twickerhun · 19/11/2017 20:18

Otters rice bacteria behave differently to other bacteria. Rice shouldn’t be reheated.

Report
Twickerhun · 19/11/2017 20:18

I’d eat it. Yum.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 19/11/2017 20:19

I would categorically not, especially if you're pregnant. You don't know when it was cooked, it might have already been reheated before it even got to you.

BigBaboonBum · 19/11/2017 20:20

Never ever rice, but if it’s something else then sure, it just won’t taste great probably

I did when pregnant but if there’s anything like prawns in it then take it out, also wouldn’t with rice:

Well I've had some of it. Contrary to tasteful opinion it tasted awesome. I bypassed the rice and mostly ate the noodles and salt and chilli chips.

I did a few weeks ago. Tasted tip top.

With rice, you just have to be a bit careful and make sure it's thoroughly reheated - rice left to sit about and not properly reheated is one of the worst offenders for food poisoning.

I totally would, and did last week. I had chicken. I also have emetophobia so usually am very cautious about food poisoning. I wouldn’t bat an eyelid! Definitely avoid the rice though!

SweetheartTreacleTart · 20/11/2017 10:18

I have never had a problem with reheating rice cooked the previous day or a few days before. I have never suffered with food poisoning or stomach sicknesses from doing so.

Yes, all of it happily.
