How many weeks are you?

You're having a healthy baby. That's all that matters right now.

Try not to worry. No scan is 100%.

It's a skill for qualified people to be able to tell the sex so I doubt anyone on the internet will be able to give you a definitive answer either way.
If they have time and are willing at your anomaly scan you could ask to confirm.

(Of course they may still get it wrong, they will never say they're 100% sure)

Anecdotal but a friend had a private scan was told she was having a boy.

She didn't bother asking at the twenty week scan spent pregnancy thinking she was having a a little boy and had a surprise girl.

It could be too early, ask again when you go for your 20 weeks scan.

And congratulations on your pregnancy.

My friend was told girl and it was a boy so they are wrong sometimes.

I know just worried as I've gone out and bought so much pink!

No offence but that was a bit daft! I'd take it all back and wait until later on to buy anything.
We were told both DD's were girls but I still only bought white/neutral just in case!

Good for you Alice, your pregnancy, your rules! Bear in mind gender guesses from scans can always be wrong, so keep the receipts :D Have you had your 20 week scan? As pp said you could ask then?

You do know you can dress girl babies in colours other than pink?

You won't know definitively until he or she is here.

Yes I do know but as a girly girly myself pink is a massive colour in a girly girls life ! So pink is what I went for ! And for your information I also got yellow and red . And I'm due to have my 20week scan on the 20th of this month I'm hoping they can deffo tell by then as Ill be nearly 22weeks

Congratulations. I have no idea about gender scans, but as an idea could you google 16 week scan boy and see what that looks like to compare? The 2d pic is a bit shadowy to really see. I rekon youl get a clear answer at ur next scan. Seeing your 3D pic makes me excited as I am just coming up to 16 weeks so it's cool to see it resembles a baby! Xx

Hiya, congratulations first of all it's such a shame to see so much negativity! I am
In the exact same boat as you regarding my scan it left me so confused! Personally I've held of buying anything until my 20 week scan which is tomo! I was told
I was having a girl after 17 weeks of feeling convinced it was a boy! I'm no expert but that does look more girly than male.. especially for 16 weeks you would expect a bit more for a boy! This is purely my opinion from seeing over 10 girls born into the family in the last few years! Either way congratulations focus on baby being happy and healthy xx

I understand that the sixteen week private scans tend to be accurate in the vast majority of cases - otherwise they'd lose credibility fast. I had one, which was confirmed at the 20 week NHS scan and then at a 34 week scan. The sonographer at our 20 week scan told us she did private scans as a side job, and was confident that they were usually correct. Clearly there are no guarantees, but we're talking about the vast majority of cases here.

Enjoy your pregnancy, and enjoy buying stuff. The only thing I would say is that my tastes have changed as pregnancy has gone on - some of the clothes I loved a few months ago aren't the ones I love now! But we're all different.

I thought it may have been their tail bone but it's to far up the front of the body to be that ! I've got a little boy already and they told me he was a girl, they do look like bits to me ! But got to be patient to find out lol

Oh really! I was talking about this today going from the "potty shot" it looks like a girl to me but I might be totally wrong! What do you make of the bit I circled on mine? Very similar to yours lol! I don't have a shot of my ones bits! I already have a girl
So would of loved a boy but over the moon either way x

I don't kno it's weird as you know what their arms and legs and cord look like on the scans , i think maybe they could be boys but only when pain and gas and air time comes will be our deffo answer x
