So i started using the lush peace massage bar 3 weeks or so ago in an attempt to prevent stretch marks but today i noticed my belly is covered in little pink pimples like a light rash. I have been applying after my nightly shower before putting on pjs. Any suggestions of a good alternative product? Im 11 +3 Smile

I use Lush Dream Cream and it's honestly the best thing ever. I get eczema as well and it really helps with that as I can't use steroid cream whilst pregnant.

I used Pai's stretch mark system. I loved it as it's an organic product and best of all I didn't get any stretch marks at all!

I was using burts bees belly oil but hated being oily all day. Started using body shop butter but could actually feel my skin stretching and itching/tight. Switched to burts bees mama bee belly butter about 6 weeks ago and love it. I'm now 26 weeks and a lot of my mum arrived more recently - but so far no stretch marks. (And I'm quite prone to them as I have TONS from previous moderate weight gain/loss). It's great because it's unscented, and it dries well so can still get dressed in the morning but skin feels lovely and soft until bedtime :)

I've been using a combination of bio oil, burts bees belly butter and mamma mio tummy butter (expensive treat from DH!) I have sensitive skin and eczema on my hands but have had no problem with any of these. 34+5 now and no stretch marks... yet! I guess there's still time!

I second bio-oil. Not a single stretch mark on this tum (and my bump was humongous).

I had the same problem with Lush. Horrid itchy rash that didn't go away for days.

I was dreading getting stretch marks as my DM and dsis got them dreadfully (sorry, I don't care what they symbolise, I wanted to avoid them if poss). I used the Body Shop's Vit E body butter. Amazing stuff. Not a single stretch mark. Don't know whether I was never going to get them anyway or whether it was the butter but if I were to get pregnant again, I'd err on the side of caution and use the same stuff.

Echoing others on here - I alternate between Bio Oil and Palmers Tummy Butter.

I'm using Mama Mio Tummy Rub Oil. Only four months pregnant so not much of a bump yet but it smells amazing and makes my skin so so soft.

Another vote for Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter - love it. There are a few things in their range I'm not keen on but this is great.

Through my first pregnancy I used Palmers, Lush, Vitamin E oil and cream, Bio Oil etc and my stomach looks like a victim of Jack the Ripper. I moisturised every day beforehand due to being an avid swimmer and getting horrific dry skin. Nothing was going to stop them.
This pregnancy I've stuck to a non-specialist moisturiser I've used every day for the 7 years in between and no new ones. My older ones haven't faded despite consistent daily use.

These creams do not penetrate to the layer where stretch marks occur, it's not how it works. Keeping skin hydrated can reduce the look/texture etc of them but if they happen they happen.

I used Clinique body butter throughout my last pregnancy - no strong smell and no stretch marks on my bump. (I wanted to love Palmers but the smell is too strong for me).
Shame I didn't put any on my thighs, who knew pregnancy stretch marks there were a Thing? Sigh...
Whatever you decide to use, use it everywhere!
