CB weeks indicator going in the wrong direction

Hi

By lmp I should be 6 weeks. On Wednesday I took a CB digital and it came back at 2-3 (4-5 weeks in traditional terms) and I put this down to ovulating late. Also ran this past the GP and he said he was surprised they can offer these products as HCG varies greatly.

I have bloods booked in for Monday and then the week after to see the difference.

Unfortunately this morning I tested again hoping to see 3+ (5+ weeks plus in traditional terms) but instead got 1-2.

It sounds like bad news but just wanted to hear other people's experiences please.

Had a mmc in January and was hoping this was the one but maybe not.

Thanks in advance!

No personal experience and I see why you're worried but those tests are the devil's work. It's good your getting bloods and I really hope it's a good outcome. Put those tests down !!!!!! Xx

Really tempted to repeat a clear blue and see if it's still 1-2 or whether it's back to 2-3....

Did you use FMU? It can affect the results if your wee is more diluted

I sent my DH to buy me one of those tests recently and the pharmacist have him a massive lecture about how inaccurate they are and how they only cause stress. Hopefully your blood tests can give you some more reassurance.

Thanks. That's comforting to know. I did use FMU but I went to the toilet during the night and drank some water after (a glass). Shortly after the FMU which I used to test, I went loo again and passed a lot more urine. Not sure how diluted the FMU was but it looked fairly pale.

In terms of symptoms I'm not feeling as dizzy and lightheaded today. Boobs are sore to touch. Can still smell things.

It could go either way really. Had a mmc in January which was really traumatic as I went into hospital with sepsis infection and had to make decisions regarding antibiotics which could affect the baby. And then they did a scan to check kidneys and baby had passed away. Had medical management and it's horrendous, passed out three times with pain and they had to give me morphine. Body was just not ready to let go.

Will never forget thinking I'd finally made 12 weeks for the scan to show no heartbeat. It was really devastating and I've survived cancer and the pregnancy was the first bit of happiness.

Oh you poor thing Sad try not to get too stressed, if you haven't had any cramping or bleeding chances are everything's fine. Keeping everything crossed for you x

Thank you. No bleeding but have had period like cramping since before AF was due to be honest.

The cramping can be completely normal at this stage. Given your history though, could you ask your GP for an early scan? I'm so sorry for everything you've been through.

Thanks magpie. They offered the weekly bloods yesterday and it was this morning that I got 1-2 weeks on the clear blue digital. I'm having the bloods with GP on Monday so will mention it then.

I might just book for a private scan but feel it might be inconclusive yet (6 weeks) so will see if I get a bit further along.

Hi, I have been driving myself crazy with these tests.

I haven't had one go down. But I only just got my 3+ today at 6 weeks + 5 and have been really worried as had a bleed and embryo measuring small etc.

I've taken about 6 of them and they've all said 2-3 since the first one I took.

I don't think they are very accurate.

I took the one this morning with the first urine, maybe try and do that if your going to do it again.

Hope everything goes ok for you. Xx

Thank you. Forgot to mention I've had lower backache as well which I thought was UTI related. I was given a course of antibiotics which I've finished but sample came back clear.

It was quite intense for a few days and then settled but it came back. Heat pad totally settled it though.

Thanks lbn. I've decided not to take any more tests as they can't change the outcome anyway.

Could have a good result but bad outcome or vice verse. Or it could be good result good outcome or bad result bad outcome.

Nothing I can do to change. My mum has had 4 miscarriages (there are three of us) and she reassured me a lot about their lack of accuracy. Will just wait to see what happens with the bloods.

I've started to mentally prepare myself for the worst (or at least trying to!)

Good its best that you don't take any more. I just didn't have any control and kept buying them.

I also had very bad back pain when I first found out. I'm still waiting to see if everything ok with this pregnancy. Went for an early scan as I have to have a CVS test to detect a genetic condtion my son has and I am measuring small for dates and sonographer said can go either way and come back in 2 weeks. It's such a worrying time. Good luck and I hope you get some good news next week. X

Really sorry to hear about the bleeding. Maybe give your local EPU a call?

redstrawberries101 · 21/05/2016 22:56

Yeah I will in the morning. To be honest id just rather know either way now. I find the fear of the Unknown 10 times harder.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to me today, really appreciate it

I googled my local EPU and it says it's open on weekends from 9 until 3.30 so I will see if I can get hold of them tomorrow..

I can understand the fear of the unknown. I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight and that the EPU can see you tomorrow.

Good luck today xx I had bleeding all through my second pregnancy and it terrified me. Added to your inconsistent tests, I can't even imagine how worried you must be. I really hope that it is just a combination of diluted urine and late ovulation and today you get good news. And if it isn't, that you have an easier time of it than last time xxx

Hope you can get to talk to someone today Cheeky. I'm 12 weeks pregnant after 4 miscarriages and have also had backache for last week. I also had bleeding at 6 weeks - bleeding in first trimester has never been good news for me before - but scans at 7 and 9 weeks showed no reason. Had not realised just how common early bleeding is.
Good luck. X
