Hi folks this might seem like a long winded thread but I need to say everything to make sure if possible my quesyions/concerns are answered.
Ok so 2 years ago I had my first glucose tolerance test and my results were deemed fine but only just therefore not treated as having diabetes. Anyway when ds1 was born he was 8.12lb which is ok in the 62nd centille which isn't bad considering went over by 8 days and ended up having an emergency c section. Anyway the ward was awful the staff although I appreciate they were short staffed and rushed they were neglectful rude unsympathetic and left alot of the ladies who had just had a c section without even a drink for 16 hours and didn't help at all when your baby needed a nappy change etc even though 30 min prior you were in a recovery room after your major operation! That's not the worst bit either!
So found out I'm pregnant again had my gtt last week and found out that hey had significantly reduced the limit of a healthy blood sugar level. Well my results came back better then last time but apparently one of my results are 0.3mmol higher then they should be therefore be if treated as diabetic even though baby at the mo IS's measuring in the 50th centille (30 weeks). Anyway I just wondered if any of you ladies who have had gestational diabetes wpuld be able to give me any advice on what to expect pre birth and after birth just so I know what to expect as having an elective section because I do not want to stay in there any longer then necessary! Thank you so much in advance sorry for rambling on! Appreciate any comments x
