Dark brown discharge - my happy ending

Thanks ever so much for your support ladies.
I wiped dark brown discharge a couple of times on Monday morning (2am) followed by cramps and more dark / stringy discharge the next couple of days and after going absolutely hysterical I had managed to convince myself I had lost the baby. I thought I was going to go mad.
Went to the EPAC today and.... I have a beautiful 9 week 4 days baba with a strong heartbeat and the most perfect hands, brain with two hemispheres which we saw, knee caps, spine...!!! Our baba is just perfect.
I really hope this post gives hope to the women who are in the limbo of waiting for their scan. I was in tears in the waiting room and left almost skipping!
PS: If you were the lovely lady at the RVI hospital today at 12:45 who brought me a tissue when I got teary in the waiting room and sincerely wished me luck, I cannot thank you enough. Random acts of kindness like yours have a huge impact, it certainly did on me. Cannot believe what kind people there are out there. THANK YOU!

And as for the act of kindness, I had a lady do similar for me when I was crying in my EPAU. Is so good to know that some people still care :-) x

Aww giraffe I thought this lady was an absolute star! What a kind thing to do. Especially as she will have been worried herself!

Thank you armadale I have just remembered I had read dark grey discharge can be foetal matter and convinced myself it was the baby. Oh my gosh what an awful past few days :s
Keep looking at picture of lil one and grinning!

That's good news. I've got a scan booked for tomorrow after experiencing the same. But I've had red blood as well :( not a lot but enough to worry. I'll only be 6 weeks today according to the doc and that's the earliest they can see me. Getting a bit scared now.

both my 'little darlings' thought it would be fun to do this to me at around 8 weeks. It's horrible. No epu in those days, just a dating scan at 10 weeks.

Very stressful indeed the first time as I'd being ttc for over 18 months.

They are now, 16 and almost 13 and still find ways to scare me.

regina I had mostly dark brown blood / stringy but (and that's the bit where I screamed in the bathroom) a small dot of "fresher" looking blood with bright red blood behind it. Nurse today said usually as long as it's not flowing like a period it tends to be okay. She thinks in my case, because the uterus is very low at that stage, because I was hugely constipated and straining, a bit of the uterus could have got caught and lost some tissue / blood. Then the cramps could have been because the uterus had been irritated. She did say cramps are very common at that stage though which reassured me lots!

Thanks everyone!! I was very good at imagining (when I read others) "oh if this happens to me I must remember to stay calm" but when it happens to you and your lil baba you just loose the plot, at least I did... I am so glad midwife referred me to EPAC though because I had lost hope and was starting to not want to talk with the baby or think about it (because I was imagining it wasn't there sort of thing). Really, really pleased with how it's been dealt with by midwife and staff at RVI's EPAC. So grateful!

starball that must have been HORRENDOUS! I only had to wait from Monday to Thursday and it felt like agony so if I had had to wait until my scan in 20 days' time I would have gone mad, I really would. I think this is the start of worrying for your children that all parents talk about!

That's kind if reassuring, it has cleared up now. There was brown stringy bits and red but like I said it was less than a 3rd of what I would get on a normal period, it was off and on. I really don't know what to think. Haven't had cramps like I would a period either.

Is there any other way they can check if a scan is no use? The only reason I ask is the doc says 6 weeks, I think more 4weeks. He has taken it from the date my last period started which means 6 weeks is right but I'm doubtful.

Not quite that bad because I could at least do another Pg test and see happy blue lines.

The second time I was camping with DD1 so less time for worrying.

Fabulous news!
It's always easier to tell others not to worry but it's terrifying when it happens to you. I had 8 weeks of constant brown bleeding with 2 massive 'bright red blood' bleeds at weeks 12 and 15 but I just had my 20 week scan today and have a perfectly healthy little girl so a bleed doesn't always mean the end.
I honestly do know it's easier said than find but try and relax now a teeny bit and enjoy your pregnancy

Regina at 4 weeks, can it not be implantation bleeding (which is totally normal)?
My friend had her periods at week 6 and totally freaked out... her son turned 9 not so long ago ;)
Thanks alwaysdancing baba and I have been doing lots of sleeping, relaxing in bed and having nice food to celebrate :) I love imagining him all warm and cosy in my tummy ? ? ?

Oh no Regina I am so sorry. Conception is so unfair and heartbreaking :(
I am shocked by the number of my friends who have had miscarriages without ever saying (they told me because I thought I was having one). Most of them now have happy healthy little babas. Please don't loose hope Regina and be kind to yourself. Send you a big hug xx

I'm so confused. The bleeding wasn't that heavy and I wasn't in massive pain. I felt like I made it up when I seen the nurse and she asked why I was sent. 3 positive tests and bleeding and now back to square one.

So either chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage. No indication on what it could be.
