My DD was born on Halloween last year, a day before her due date. I was worried she would come on Halloween and not keen on the idea at all. We are now coming up to her first birthday party and I can't wait to make her a big pumpkin shaped cake!! I have had a complete turn round now and think her parties will be good fun and besides, once she arrived I was so smitten with her, I couldn't give a monkeys about the date!!
Also, in all my 30 odd years, nothing spooky has ever actually happened on Halloween so there's nothing bad to associate with it really.
Good luck with your section, whatever date you end up having it on!

I'm due 2 November but think it would be very cool to have baby either on the 1st or 11th of november, i think it would b cool to have 11-11-11 as a dob but thats just something to keep me positive if i go late :) i think halloween birthday wont make any difference to your baby, you certainly wont forget it. I plan to paint a big pumpkin on my bump & scare all the kids who come to the door this year (if i'm not early). :o

I think its exciting. I'm due about that time and have this awful but funny image of turning up at the labour ward dressed as a giant pumpkin. Baby brain being too imaginative.

Its definitely not spooky though.

My ds was born on Halloween, I think its really cool! He was a few days late and I was so pleased he decided to hang on a bit longer. He'll be 2 this year so still too young to really understand about birthdays but I can't wait until hes old enough to have fancy dress birthday parties.

Good luck with your c section and congratulations Smile

My wedding anniversary is Hallowe'en so I'd love a baby born on that date. Smile

My due date is bonfire night too. Would be nice to have it on that date but depending on consultants advice may be induced early.

My mum went into Labour te day before Halloween with my brother and was totally freaking out as she didn't want his birthday to be Halloween - she ended up having a 48 hour labour and he was born in November 1st but when ge was younger he used to love having his birthday parties on Halloween anyway, or if he had it the day after he'd have loads of sweets and junk to add to the party from Halloween, he's almost 16 now but says it would have been cool to have it on that date. I personally don't think it matters, Halloweens a fun day these days it's not horrible and most kids love it! plus his/her friends will always remember the date.
I think the only date id be bothered about my baby being born would be Christmas day - I have a few Christmas baby friends and they hate it.
Iv had a few birthdays that fall on Easter and even that's annoying - knowone wants an Easter egg as a birthday present, my babies due the day before my birthday so will prob have the same problem!

Hi, my daughter was due on 28th October in 2007 and I really wanted her to be born on Halloween as I could imagine having fun birthday parties for her, but in the end she was 2 weeks late and born on 12 November! We have a fireworks theme on her birthdays now, and she loves it!

I was born on 30th October so almost a Halloween baby and despite people tediously asking me if I am a witch (!!!) I love it because there is always so much going on around my birthday and I love Halloween birthday parties!!

I'm another one due on bonfire night! :)

I don't think I'd want a baby with a halloween birthday though. I don't like the culture around halloween and can't really see anything to celebrate in it so would just find it a nuisance if our little boy's parties clashed with everyone else's.

I'm due on Hallowe'en too (moved back a week from Bonfire Night!) - I keep telling people I'll be naming him Damien.

Am not due on halloween but I already thought of her little costume Blush she's gonna be a mini witch - I have a black long sleeved vest and intend to make a little pointy hat from cardboard. The cat will pose in the pic for authenticity (yes, I am booooooored - house is clean, baby clothes ironed and I still have 4 weeks off Grin)
