I was induced with my first 2 DC so have never experienced this.

I fully expected to be induced again but now at 40+2 my waters have gone with a huge gush all over the sofa and floor.

Have gone through 2 maternity pads in the last 10 minutes!

Have no pain though.

I just rang the midwife and she says I need to go in for a check up. Should I take the pad with me incase they try and say its wee? Its still coming out. Plus I need a poo but am scared to try but then am thinking I am better off having it at home rather than on the delivery table.

Go to the loo and do a poo.

Then go the hospital. They can test the fluid to make sure it was not just your pelvic floor giving out. Don't worry.

Off you go then. Good luck. And keep us informed.

Oh, exciting! V best of luck.

Take pads with you.
Do have your poo - your bowels wanting to move is another sign that labour is imminent.
Go in as advised.

Word of warning: my DS4 arrived within 3 hours of my waters breaking. In bed. I thought I would not make it out of the car... Grin.

Do let us know how you get on.

When I was induced with my previous DC, both were born an hour after my waters were broken. Don't know how it works with spontanious labours though. Have a niggly pain now but nothing major.

DP has gone for a shave Hmm

Wow! Men don't seem to have any sense of urgency, do they?!?!

I take it after his shave he is taking you straight to the hospital PZ?

Well, all I can say is that my waters broke, I spoke to MW, iced DS2's birthday cake (yes, DS4 and DS2 share a birthday Hmm) - all in complete comfort. Got into the car with minor niggles, hospital 15 min drive away and I really, really thought I am going to have him In. The. Car.

Tell your DH to nevermind the whiskers and get you to the labour ward unless he fancies being your midwife Grin!

Wow good luck! Oh I do love a birth thread!

My dh also had a shave while I was having contractions. I think it is some sort of coping mechanism :)

Grin He wants to look lovely to meet his baby!

I remember fretting about not having plucked my eyebrows when I was having an emergency C-section at 28 weeks. I think I was trying to distract myself from what was going on!

Don't hang around too long!

I am PMSL at your DP going for a shave.

When my waters broke in the middle of the night (with our first DC ) DP said "I'll put the kettle on. Do you want a cup of tea?"
