Well done Swear I hadn't even noticed!

That's great you had a good night maybe Smile

Morning,

Well done Swear.

I was just trying to form coherent sentences to congratulate Maybe's efforts.

I logged every wake & feed last night and found that DS2 (and therefore I) isn't sleeping longer than 2.5 hours at the longest overnight. And has, for the last 3 nights at least, also been awake for an hour between 3-4am.

I had my suspicions that it had slipped back (bedside crib & BF = hadn't been paying much attention). No crying, fortunately, just awake. (And when he wasn't awake we had 'drunk-man-using-speakerphone' outside the window and then the cat).

I'm back to work in a week. Got to get this sorted (but we're about to go off visiting family again...)

Morning ladies and babies! Hope the night went ok for those of you sleep training. I'm hoping everything crossed that our sleep issues are on the mend. O has had only one wake up over the last 3 nights, and managed 1st stretches of 7-8 hours. Last night he went down at 21:00 (serves me right for letting him nap at 6), and woke for a feed at 4:15. He was then up at 5:45, but I bought him into bed with me (DH had got up for work), but was woken by a thud and cry at 6:45, he's managed to roll/wriggle from the middle of a king sized bed and had fallen out! Shock He's absolutely fine as he landed on DH's pillows that I'd put on the floor, but I was so shaken and felt really guilty! Bouncing away like a crazy person in his Jumperoo now while I have some caffeine to calm my nerves!

Hi everyone! Thanks for the new thread suz

dom I wouldn't try sleep training if you're going away shortly as it can fuck everything up I speak from experience.

Don't worry doc, I'm pretty sure baby falling off bed (or sofa) is so common it's almost a rite of passage! Hasn't yet happened to us but I am very lax so I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Place marking!

Glad your night went well maybe. I agree mornings are much harder to crack. Dd1 still wakes up 5.30 and is at an age where you just can't force her to stay in bed like when she was little! She's teething her last molars at the moment and makes things worse. Can't wait until its done as we've got two teething children at the moment which is no fun!

Had a crappy night with dd2 but she's cutting her second tooth so expect things to improve once she's done. Fingers crossed!

I know, maybe. I don't know what to do anyway, really. Just try not to default-feed every time? He was quite happy all last night - just awake for a lot of it!

I'm going to bed at 7pm tonight!

Yes, doc! If it hasn't happened already to the rest of us, it will!

We're joining the sleep training crew tonight. This is going to suck for everyone, and I'm worried about DS coping with T crying in the next room for hours, but it must be done. We'll be starting about 6:30. I've been wavering for weeks and we did try for a few days but I kept cracking. Committing here is a way of making sure I follow through. T's 25 weeks, probably almost 18 lb, and we'll be going with one feed after 1 am.

time How did it go last night? Can I pm you and maybe to join on the Facebook support chat?

Place marking. Been lurking of late - sorry!

Hope the sleep training is going well maybe and time. I've been in the firm 'never sleep train' camp, but almost 6 months in and I can see why people do it now. It's too easy to judge what you don't understand!

DS is 24 weeks today. He can roll tummy to back, but seems to have forgotten how. We've started trying to bring bedtime forward from 9pm, last night he was asleep just before 8 but woke 45 minutes later. I managed to boob him back to sleep, then he woke again after around 10 minutes... he doesn't seem to go into his deep sleep until after 9 at the moment. Which only lasts 2 hours. Zzzzz.... still boobing all night long here. He's outgrown the next2me so we've moved his cotbed into into our room, however we've been bedsharing for quite some time so it could take a while to get him properly settled in his cot. I'm still having to bring him in with me when he wakes around 11.

And fs I was exactly the same but then I had a baby who just wouldn't settle any other way :(

We had a good night here to.
It took her half hour of crying to settle intitally. She was asleep by 7:10pm.
At 4am I woke for the toilet and could see on the monitor she was awake but not crying so I left her until she cried at 4:20am.
I then fed her and she went back down without a fuss until 7:30am.
She's now tired again though and she's refusing to nap and I'm lost at to what to try.

Ms hip- I'll be happy to add you and anybody else who wants to.

whispers hello! Can I join your group?! My little boy was born in March and I found this amazing thread this week whilst googling 'oh my god my baby won't sleep' or something similar. I'm stunned at how many similarities there are between your children and my little monster! The biggest thing for us at the mo is sleep (or lack thereof) He was sleeping through until 16 weeks - now isn't. Constantly on the boob all night and will only nap on me in the day. Am absolutely sold on getting a sleep consultant and desperate for a good long stretch at night.
Reading through your lovely thread over the last few days has helped me feel a little less crazy and a lot less isolated so thank you! Xx KT

Hi KT, welcome to the thread! Sorry you're having sleep troubles too.

Great news time. I meant to say to one of your earlier posts, that sleep group you mentioned sounded awesome and I think you should definitely go, even if it doesn't help with her sleep you might meet some other mums in the same situation and you can all sympathise with each other and have a good moan together!

Good luck with the sleep training everyone, i've heard you just need to get through the first few nights then it gets better.

doc I think that's a great success that you had the foresight to put pillows down to soften the landing!

While I can't claim anything like the sleep issues some of you have had, it just took me bloody ages to get S to bed - got her ready, into the sleeping bag, fed her, put her down with bunny and mobile on... And bloody dh starts playing the fucking harmonica in the bathroom!!!! Fucks sake.

We are down early tonight - 6:25 due to absolutely zero sleep today. I expect he will be awake soon needing to eat again!

Welcome KT!

Time C looks very content in her new jumperoo, DS loves his, although doesn't do much jumping in it, just likes to stand and play with all the toys.

Those who are weaning, what finger foods are your babies managing well with? So far the only thing DS has really eaten himself is toast, I have been offering him bits of cucumber the last few days which he wasn't interested in at all. I was thinking of trying some soft well cooked carrot sticks.

Report
Maybebabybee · 29/08/2016 19:52

Actually I have a weaning question too, should I be offering water in a sippy cup?

Report
Timetogrowup2016 · 29/08/2016 19:55

Maybe-
I offer her everytime but she doesn't take any yet.
