And if you do, and believe you have good reason to, what do you think if his bizarre tweets?

I doubt anyone likes Donald Trump as much as Donald Trump.

Have no feelings one way or the other. I do find his tweets amusing though.

I have literally never felt such visceral hatred for a politician/public figure. Nothing bad enough can happen to him IMHO

Anyone but Hillary. He was certainly the lesser of the evils.

Because he has lovey hair. Any leader should have lovely hair. Boris also has lovely hair. It is why William should never allowed to be King. His hair isn’t lovely.

Can we like just one or two characteristics? I like the fact he's a great fan of the U.K. And he was definitely better than Hillary.

American here.

It’s the economy:
Retirement and investment growth is through the roof.
The US unemployment rate is the lowest on record for everyone, women and minorities included. There are also infrastructure improvements happening all around. (Not sure that part is from him, but he promised it and it is from federal Money.)

I do not like the complete lack of civility toward anyone that challenges him. I have deep fear that only a person who fights like him could survive in the current climate, though. Never seen anything like it! It’s dirty.

“Anyone but Hillary. He was certainly the lesser of the evils.“

And this. I could not support her because she attacked women who her accused her husband of assault. I believe these women, especially Juanita Broderick both then and now. Dems don’t care, it was not convenient so any noise they make about Trump rings deaf in my ears.

I was a teen when she did the whole Tammy Wynette bit on. national TV, showing disdain for women that chose to raise their families instead of pursuing a career. It turned my stomach. She’s no feminist. An opportunist.

They left the White House broke, according to her. Check out her bet worth now.

The Ukraine. Her hypocrisy is endless.

So we have her to thank for anything we don’t like about Trump.

Of course, you cannot speak about these things in the US now. Breath a word and your a racist.

We had a taxi driver (in the US) who looooooved the Donald.

It was a long journey and I almost got out and walked. If DH hasn’t kept elbowing me to stop me opening my mouth I’m sure I would have been left on the roadside.

For him it was all about the wall and immigration. He had lived far and wide globally (ex military) but really didn’t seem to like anyone foreign.

I don't think anyone here will condone his personal behaviour or attacks, but his actual economic policies have actually resulted in prosperity and regeneration for a lot of the US.

By the way, I hope the Democrats were watching our election closely... nominate someone like Bernie Sanders, get Trump again...

I don't understand how you can not support Hillary because " she attacked women who her accused her husband of assault" but support Donald Trump who has actually sexually assaulted women.

There are many, many reasons to not want Hillary. Many more than there are not to want the current POTUS. When was he convicted of sexual assault? I know there have been accusations but innocent until proven guilty....

I wouldn't say I like him, but things happen. Certain NATO Allies are upping their defence spend; there is some movement with Korea; he isn't willing to be played by Tehran.

He is an object lesson for those willing to learn about why Brexit happened, and why he will get a second term. He is an outsider, and so he connects...he is outside the usual political box...he has not been, iirc, a governor, nor a congressman, nor a senator. I don't think the electorate particularly trust their politicians any more, and what was being served up in the U.S. was just more of the same, hence Trump as POTUS. AS I said, parallels exist for the UK and Brexit.

I've never liked him since I saw him many years ago on a documentary made by Selina Scott. He tried to get the BBC to stop showing it because Selina wouldn't curcuma to his advances! He is a bully and the antithesis of what happens when a spoilt brat grows up. His name calling is so so idiotic, how can he possibly think that's acceptable? It's said that if the millions given to him by his dad had been invested in the stock exchange he would be just as well off as he is now. He has gone bankrupt 3 times, and thinks nothing of not paying tradesmen or anyone else if he thinks they haven't done a good enough job. He is said to have taken out 3,500 rites against other businesses. He even tried it with the Scottish Government because he doesn't like wind farms didn't win. As for his lying!!
I would really wonder if the US economy could have improved anyway without the likes of him around.

I despise Trump but I hope you won't mind if I reply about why others seem to like him.

  1. Many people admire him for two things which have turned out to be totally untrue: They were duped into thinking he was a great businessman and they regarded him as a self-made billionaire. In fact, he was such a bad businessman that, apart from the multiple bankruptcies, no reputable American bank would loan him money, which is why he turned to Russia. And it turned out that his father had been illicitly funneling money to him since infancy, so he was a millionaire, without having lifted a finger, in his youth.

  1. Many people admire his brashness, crudeness, strutting. They like the way he insults people, manhandles women, and defies all social norms. I think they get vicarious pleasure, imagining having the nerve to do it themselves.

  1. Many people just appreciate that they're making more money under Trump, even though it's not clear that he's really the cause of it.

  1. I suspect that unconsciously, some people even like that he's so ignorant - surely the dumbest American president of all time - because they're not too smart themselves, so it gives them hope.

I love how people wouldn’t vote for Hillary because her husband sexually assaulted someone but WOULD vote for Trump who sexually assaulted multiple people

It also surprises me how so many Americans seem to have no idea how Trump is or rather isn't running their country. When he came into office he talked about draining the swamp, which is ironic considering the types of people he has put in positions of authority and how many of his appointees have been prosecuted and jailed for a number of offences. The other thing he did was sack all the current staff straight away in all the government offices prior to any hand over. This had never been done before, every change of government had had a change over phase so the new appointees were briefed on all matters pertaining to their area. So all his staff went into post blind with no idea how to run the dept. Quite a few depts. still have no management. Loads of areas in government can't even make day to day decisions!

Not being American I don't have a full view of whats happening but one of the things I like is he seems to have actually tried to do what he said he'd do. Like it or not, he made the people promises and they voted for them. A lot of whats going on seems to me to be 'the establishment' reacting against someone who has gone against the norm. I wouldn't be surprised if he got in again.
