How long did you keep your little one exclusively in baby grows?

Until at least 6 months. They’re just so simple and cosy, easy for nappy changes and the ones with built in mittens are fab 😊

Ahh 3 months is still tiny, far too little for proper clothes imo

My DS is 11 months and sometimes I still pop a baby gro on him if we’re lazing about at home. Not need to —attempt— to keep socks on him and perfect for crawling around on the carpet.

About 6 months here too. I changed when we started doing a proper bedtime to make the distinction between day clothes and night clothes.

First baby 9 months. 2nd and 3rd baby I put them in clothes sooner but I think I just found the drudgery of changing babies etc. less stressful on later babies. And also, there was a better routine with the 2nd and 3rd because of an older child in the house. On my first I'd still be in my pjs at lunch so no way was he getting out of his babygro when I couldn't even get dressed!

My DD is 5 months and just wears them at night, as PP poster said, to make a distinction between day and night clothes - not that I’m sure she even notices!! 😂

I only put my 6 month old in leggings and tops when we see people who have bought them for her otherwise she’s in babygrows and will be until she’s about 1. I think they’re much comfier for her and she’s got a lifetime of wearing clothes with a waist band so I’m in no rush. I’ve had comments about her being in her pjs tho which surprised me.
I do separate out her night time and daytime baby grows but made the decisions based on which ones I like best so plain ones are night time and colourful are daytime.

My boys are 8 weeks old and they’ll be in babygrows for the foreseeable future, I only dress them “proper” when we go “out-out”

Mine is 6 months and exclusively in baby grows, mainly because I have lost all of his socks.

I've bought her a few tops and leggings and coats for when it's a bit more chilly. I love her in baby grows to be honest.

DD was probably in babygrows until about 4 months. Then I switched to leggings a long sleeved vest and cardi. Always comfy, soft, clothes though - nursery were astounded that she didn't have any jeans for 'Jeans for genes day' at the age of 11 months.

She still wears sleepsuits to bed, which I plan to keep her in until she runs out of sizes, it's just good to know her PJ top isn't riding up, and that she has cosy feet.

Once they start crawling really. I find they tend to scoot their legs out of the babygro entirely, or their toes poke out between the snaps. I have a few that still fit ds at 9 months that I sometimes use for jammies, but he is also pulling up to stand and cruising along furniture, so getting his legs tangled up is a problem.

I prefer simple clothes for pre-crawlers and non-sitters. Can't be bothered with the faff of trousers and shirts.

I found that once ds was mobile as his legs would disappear into the body of a babygrow.

I remember a relative meeting DD when she was about a month old & commenting "oh, she's still in her pyjamas"

My second two children were spring born so by the time they were six months old I'd put a tshirt and/or leggings on top if they needed. They were then warmer and looked a bit more dressed but for minimal effort.
That way I kept them in baby gros till nearly a year.

Just to add some variety, both my girls were out of babygrows (other than at night) by one month. It helped - me not them - get into a routine and I was given loads of lovely clothes to dress them in. I also bucked the MN trend by putting them in dresses and tights and all sorts of fiddly outfits that are not approved of in these parts. I loved it and I don't they they cared one way or the other!

Until they start pulling themselves to stand and then the feet in babygros get in the way.

I loved mine in baby grows, he was mostly in them until he was about 7 months. They made crawling more difficult for him so I reluctantly moved onto trousers.

Started with outfits for my early March baby in the summer, as it was easier to layer and keep her cool - remove socks, leggings, top as needed, plus we had lots of lovely summer outfits we'd been bought.

Mine was in them most of the time until about 8 months. It would have been a bit longer but we got a nanny at that point who started dressing her in clothes daily. I love a baby in a gro!

I plan to keep baby 3 in them until he is trying to stand up. So much easier and they look so cute. Plenty of time for proper outfits when they get bigger. My two year old is diddy and still wears 12-18 month sleepsuits to bed and i just love it
