Funny isn't it..........

how some people can disagree with the masses, or say something controversial and be 'backed up' or not be attacked. While others can't open their mouths without being told (without actually saying it) to get lost because they're talking rubbish.

Some people can be deeply offended and are offered apologies - others are just ignored.

Ho hum - guess that's how life goes - and I must be one that pulled the short straw.

I'm not flouncing - but certainly won't be seen around on much more than Products (because I've succesfully found a few things for people recently) or Member Profiles (where I don't mind helping people adjust/alter pictures).

lots of people swear needlessly and outrageously tho. I know I do frequently.

yes after 23 posts......and show me how many other threads (where people have told me I'm talking rubbihs, or even told me to go off to another site!) that I've sworn like that........

I also got quite upset about the other thread too as Ive put up with many horrible and stupid and nasty comments from people over the years because Im Irish. But Im lucky cos I could just keep my gob shut and noone was ever any the wiser . Not so easy if you are black or asian tho is it.

QofQ you give as good aas you get.

Some people probably do get away with saying more perhaps because of the way they say it.

You were quite rude on a specific thread today, perhaps you were feeling attacked(?) I don't know but I do know that I have felt attacked by you before and I have lost my temper on here before. Put it behind you and move on.

ah I dunno. The mumsnet police don't delete needlessly though

and to make light of it - I am ginger, I get ridiculed everyday!

I am putting it behind me and moving on that's why (apart from this thread) I shall limit my time on MN to helping with pictures and products.

I am rude too, but am too thick skinned to care or even notice if I am jumped on most of the time!

It depends on the person's history, I think.

Without being specific, I know - in general - the views of a lot of posters, and I am generally quick to condemn/read the post in a different way accordingly.

QoQ - I'm not sure of which thread you mean but given your general manner of posting you probably didn't deserve to be flamed (if that's what happened). People are a bit het up at the moment.

gwenick, calm down woman I can see why you got so upset. i would too in your position. It feels like you are being prejudiced and discriminated against for doing nothing. Please dont get offended, we all get upset sooner or later about something

I don't take offence easily but your outburst was totally unacceptable. No-one was making personal attacks against you or your family. You completely lose credibility when you resort to gutter language.

QueenOfQuotes · 22/07/2005 16:35

lol Fio - I've already taken my deep breaths - and have decided that seen as though this isn't the first time I've felt like this that I'll limit my postings to doing virtual shopping and touching up pictures for people.

I'm not a troll (too blonde to be one of them lol) but quite often feel that on anything vaguely controversial I'm automatically treated like one.

Now anyone got any products they need finding or pictures needing sorted????

"You completely lose credibility when you resort to gutter language."

LOL - It appears I didn't have much credibility to lose - people already thought I was (and usually do) spouting cr*p.

sorry, had to post that. qoq, i might not always agree with you but you don't spout crap usually. well, maybe sometimes - same as I do.

it's boring on the product threads.

tarantula · 22/07/2005 16:44

but spouting crap is all part of the fun QoQ I do it on a regular basis. I can see why you got so upset too.

Oh god just realised taht FOOL (father out of law) is comig round sunday. Ill need to be very calm if he starts on about it all. Ill practice those deep breathes too.

yeah I know tarantula - hence my first post on this thread - some people are seemingly allowed to spout cr*p - and others of us aren't.

QOQ I was on the thread mentioned by you and you kindly set up a more factual one for todays events many thanks for that!

You are as entitled to your opinion as everyone else and as regards to upsetting people that tends to be what opinions do.

Racism will always make for a bad thread as its not often we look inside ourselves and show what we really feel sometimes that in itself can make people ashamed and lash out (not you BTW). I understand your frustration and you lashed out at people who had strong views which i cannot blame you for.

I really hope you continue posting I don't really know you would like to think racism is not going to stop you doing something you enjoy.

I don't think it was the opinions that were the problem, QoQ. I think it was the calling people c*nts. Don't you?
