karen, thank you so much. A lovely MNer booked me an appointment, and it's for tomorrow at 9.40. No probs with that, and no probs about explaining how worried I am about the amount that I drink. But do you think she'd give me some AD's too? I'm soooo worried.

And I don't want to be with dh anymore ...... sort of, if you know what I mean.

I think you need to be 100% honest with the GP and they'll talk through the possibilities for treatment and together you can come to a workable solution. Do you want ADs ?

Best of luck and courage

Sorry I probably should start a new thread for this, but did AD's work for anyone?

Carla, you need to be completely honest. Tell him everything, you can, and you need to, Big hugs for tommorow ((((((((())))))))))))))

carla..youve mad the hardest step by admitting you have a problem with alcohol.tomorrow will be hard but as ncmm says be honest and tell them how you feel, theyre there to help.if you feel you need ads then ask.

as for probs with dh ,i suggest one thing at a time ,youve taken a big step by admitting your problem i wouldnt try to tackle two at once.

thats if your able to hang on in there with hubby at the mo.

i'll be thinking of you and i hope all goes well

You've done really well in taking this first step and should be proud of yourself. Hope that everything goes well tomorrow, let us know. Good luck.

Try not to cry and think to yourself that your going to get better because your going to make the first step tomorrow. Like the others have said tell them everything and I'm sure you'll feel a little better.
Good luck.

I agree with what has already been said but wanted to post just to add my support.

I think you need to give your GP the full picture, so if you are feeling low and feel ad's would help, them tell them that.

I can understand how nervous you must be feeling about tomorrow, and I hope that having taken this step things will start to get much better for you, and that you get the help you want.

Good luck and (((hugs))).

carla, karenanne is right its a major step realising that you may have a problem.
Re AD's they work for some people and if you think it could help you, discuss this with gp.

My heart goes out to you Carla, you sound very brave. Good luck.
