A few plants would be ideal for a present for my sister's birthday as they have just moved to a new place with a bit of a garden. Can't find anywhere online that delivers....

Oh, she's Posh! Our garden centre delivers but we're in the lowly sticks! I'll ask on Magicmum! Lots of posh girls on there!

Well when I said a garden it's actually more a balcony I think!

In Dumdrum? With a balcony! Deffo a million euros worth there!

No, no I said Dundrum direction (didn't want to be too specific in case she comes on here). I'm not from Dublin so not an expert on the geography but I know Dundrum is fairly near. They definitely didn't spend a million euros! they wanted to buy a house (hoping to have a baby soon) but couldn't afford one so moved from the area they were in (a bit rough) to a nicer one. Has a big park nearby.

KTeePee, I was only joking! Well, so far no-one on magicmum has replied, there must be a dearth of delivering garden centres over there!

Thanks for trying to help anyway! They probably don't do national garden centre vouchers either which would have been another idea....

Actually KTeePee, one of my magicmum friend has suggested trees.ie They deliver trees and small shrubs anywhere in Ireland.

Thanks for that (haven't been around for a few days...) - will give it a go...

Just had a look and they seem to be tree surgeons. I'm sure they would supply trees too if asked but I was really after a sort of on-line garden centre... guess it doesn't exist!

KTeePee, are you sure you didn't look at tree.ie instead of trees.ie? They are 2 differenct companies.

Had a look at that site. It is the closest thing I've found to what I'm looking for, though they seem to do trees mainly (which might be a bit much on a balcony!) plus they are mega expensive (60 euro starting price) - would expect to get a pretty mature specimen for that!

Yes, a full-grown Chestnut on a balcony might not be the thing! Have had no other replies yet but will let you know. Magicmum is great but very slow compared to MN!
