Hi I'm new to mumsnet. I enjoy reading the posts but have never contributed to any discussions. I'm a part-time worker after taking early retirement from the civil service. I'm interested in OCD as my 14 year old started with this all of a sudden at the age of 13. It's mainly hand washing. Fully controlled at school then explodes as soon as he arrives home. CAMS have discharged us after giving coping mechanisms. Don't help at all. Nothing we can say helps. He doesn't understand the coping strategies as they also say he has many autism traits. So now going through that process. Trigger is all around anything to do with school. We can't touch any books or laptop when doing homework. School have been great even though he doesn't present at school.
Great pressure on us as a family as we can get so frustrated & angry. Other son is 21 with no problems. He gets upset as he see's the stress it is causing us. I am going to check out mumsnet for other families going through the same

Hello!

We have a very supportive mental health topic if you're looking for some support - or children's health, which is also very supportive.

If there's anything we can do, give us a shout. Flowers
