Naff American songs from the 70s/80s.... come here if you are as old as me

Was listening to the radio yesterday when that song came on....

Him, him, him
What's she gonna do about him
She's gonna have to do without him
Or do without
Me, me, me
Etc

Ooh, I had a moment of guilty pleasure. Missed who sang it though..

I also liked Dean Friedman:

You can thank your lucky stars
That we're not as smart
as you'd like to think we are...
(with the memorable lines... "Did you see Lisa? Yes i saw Lisa? That why you're angry. I wasn't angry.)

And the Pina Calada one.

I need an ablum of naff American songs immediately

That "I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me" song. That was a classic.

'him him him...' is by Rupert Holmes, who also sang the Pina Colada song. I have the 'LP' that they;re on! (Brill 'story' songs!)

Oh naff-tastic FoJo, I might have to get that album. I should have known they were by the same person really.

Of course there were also all the Barry Manilow classics... Bermuda Triangle and etc.

And let's not forget John Denver...

Git, am staggered yuo have REO Speedwagon as 'borderline' naff. Nooo, they are heavy duty naff.

We were singing the Pina Colada song last w/end as i had a party and made them. I blasted out a few lines as i handed them out.

Guffaw at 'Did you see Lisa?'

I have Boston 'More than a feeling' on my iPod for gym. Superbly naff!
Love love love it.
