Who's up for a meal out?
Venue to be decided.(Maybe we should go for Old Orleans again - was quite good location and parking wise)

I will try to make it this time - Old orleans is good for me

I don't mind Old Orleans but can I throw another suggestion into the hat?

DH and I had lunch at one of our village pubs last week (it's under new management) and the food was absolutely top-notch and very reasonably priced. DS asked for a chicken sandwich and it was a real doorstep of the softest white bread and seemed to contain about half a roast chicken. He declared it the nicest sandwich he had ever had. I had a swordfish steak and chips which was enormous and delicious, really tender, DH had a rack of ribs with rice and salad, also fab according to him. We also had a starter of prawns with garlic and chili which was fiery and excellent, better than a lot of curry houses we have visited! We couldn't finish all our food, and we are pigs!

There is parking at the pub in question and it is 20 seconds walk from Bricket Wood Station.

Even if you don't fancy it this time maybe at a future date?

Mmmmm did someone mention ribs ???
Sounds good to me. You'll have to provide details and directions.

The Fox & Hounds, Station Road, Bricket Wood. It's directly opposite Bricket Wood Station, which is served by the Abbey Flyer Silverlink train, which runs from St Albans Abbey to Watford Junction, but it not very frequent. You could arrive on it but would need a lift back since it does not run very late into the evening.

Sounds perfect. Am pretty sure that's ok for grommit too. Shall we say meet at 8:00 for a drink, sit down to eat at 8:30.

Who else .... ????

Once we have numbers, I'll book. They have quite a small dining area. If they are expecting more than 4 people they organise the tables into something cosy

Can we have a final count for this please? Then I will warn the pub (it's a small place and the dishes are so massive they had to push two tables together just for me, dh and ds last week when we revisited). And I'll post a map too.

So...there's me...

Here's the map

map

It's the Fox and Hounds pub directly opposite Bricket Wood Station in Station Road Bricket Wood.

Bricket Wood Station is the red dot on the map. M25 is visible on the map, M1 is the blue line bottom left of map.

Jct 6 M1 and Jct 21A M25 are the nearest junctions. Anyone who wants my mobile number just in case please CAT me. What time are we meeting?

I've just checked the link - it's the right map but the red 'you are here' arrow is in the wrong place. Ignore it. Just head for the red dot that marks Bricket Wood Station.
