Anyone able to recommend a kitchen design/fitting service in Bury?

I have a challenging kitchen space - tiny and all odd angles. Because of this I won't be able to buy one off the shelf from Ikea and need someone to do the entire project. Please can anyone recommend a design/fitting company that they've used?

Not sure if they have a branch in Bury but I used Benchmarx. Very high quality and the designer came out to the house.
I can also recommend a fitter but I'll do that via a pm.

Ooh, thanks Snickers, your kitchen looks lovely! The same kind of sleek look I'm after. So Benchmarx are a national company? They have a trade branch in Moreton Hall - I guess I just fill in their contact form requesting a designer appointment, then they sens a fitter to install?

Sorry for all the Qs, I'm V. V. excited - I've had a kitchen done before in my old house but that was an easy square room. I'd really appreciate the contact details of the other kitchen fitter too. What was the reason for not using them? (Understand of course if you want to keep that to PM)

Benchmarx are national. They supply the kitchens for Wickes. All Wickes kitchens are Benchmarx but they cost more than twice as much.
They are trade only, they will not fit for you. They will design and price it up for you, deliver it etc but fitting is up to you.
Although they are trade only they are happy to open an account for you.
I'll pm the fitters details. He is a friend and very trusted. He did an amazing job.

Ta Snickers Smile

What did you do heating-wise? Am wondering about binning the rad, (never switch it on) and having the heaters in the plinths...

On the third picture, do you see the thin dark grey line on the left? That's the radiator.

That's a good idea, I do like the tall ones. I'm going to need a fair bit of work done plumbing-wise, a new boiler and something done about the exposed pipes. It's such an odd shaped room with only one right angled corner :s

The fitter that I pm'd to you was able to arrange plumbers, electricians etc.

Oh, and he'll do any make of kitchens although I cannot recommend Benchmarx highly enough.
One of the big pluses with them is that they have lots of stuff in stock. When we needed another bit I could pick it up straight away. Also we had some bits left over. They picked them up and credited them back.

I think I will go with benchmarx. That's good news that the fitter can arrange other tradesmen. My brain's been meeting a bit with the thought of co-ordinating everything.I think I've worked out a rough layout that seems the most practical, will have to move the cats' things around, I hope they don't stage a protest...

I just need to research a decent compact coming boiler now, that will be easier when I get my computer back from being mended - not quite got to grips with internetting on my phone.Confused

Do go and see Benchmarx. They really know their stuff and you are under no obligation with them.
I saw the kitchen fitter I recommend today actually but I didn't mention that I had given his details to a random person on Mumsnet. I don't know what he would have thought.

I promise I won't answer the door to him with my trousers on my head or anything. Grin

I've made a rough diagram of my planned layout. Obviously not to scare, but do you see what I mean about the peculiar angles?

Anyone able to recommend a kitchen design/fitting service in Bury?
