Can't help thinking that if you have sex with someone who looks 16 that you don't actually know, you have a bit of a responsibility to make sure, don't you?

I mean, he may have been shocked to find out she was 10, but if she looks 16 she might easily be 14 or 15 and that is also illegal.

But why was the judge so lenient? I don't understand.

I know women / girls to a degree have to take care of themselves etc but why are men not responsible at all in the eyes of this judge?

And of course this is a child who was not being taken care of properly anyway.

there was a thread on this yesterday. it is really shocking. hope attorney general's appeal against leniency of sentence succeeds and that silly arse judge gets a bollocking.

Oh I see it, thanks CF2.

Just how do we start the ball rolling with complaints against judges? I'm appalled at this. Is UK paedophile friendly or what?

I'm sorry you're bored, cod.

Do you agree with this sentence then?

You're right - we're not there. We can only rely on media reports. I'm interested in finding out more about the judge presiding over this case. How would I do that?

"Every bit of research that has ever been done on this issue shows that judges as a general rule impose sentences far more stringent than the public expect or believe appropriate"

Really?

But you said he's still a sex offender?

Exceptions like this shouldn't exist whether or not judgest are stringent or not.
