Do you reckon baby Cambridge will be named soon, I reckon Arthur or Albert are good contenders

LineyHasntLeftTheBuilding Wed 25-Apr-18 14:57:49

I'm banking on Symbol.

glasshalffull2018 Wed 25-Apr-18 14:59:08

Why symbol?

RatherBeRiding Wed 25-Apr-18 15:01:50

Glass - as in Prince the late pop singer who for a while insisted on being known by an unpronounceable symbol. grin

I really don't like Arthur, Alfred or Albert. Of the three I prefer Alfred

glasshalffull2018 Wed 25-Apr-18 15:03:08

Ah okay, ideally James Arthur Cambridge would be my choice but it won't be James as that's Kate's brother

NumberFrame Wed 25-Apr-18 15:05:00

I’m pretty sure he won’t be Prince Albert 😂

SoaveSally Wed 25-Apr-18 15:05:52

It's about time we had an Alfred

halfwitpicker Wed 25-Apr-18 15:06:04

God not this again

It's going to be Kevin goddamit

SchadenfreudePersonified Wed 25-Apr-18 15:06:16

I was hoping for Darren or Wayne.

<crosses fingers>

halfwitpicker Wed 25-Apr-18 15:06:54

It's gonna be Ivanhoe obviously

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea Wed 25-Apr-18 15:07:09

I dont think they will use Alfred with all the going on atm with Alfie Evans .....

athingthateveryoneneeds Wed 25-Apr-18 15:07:47

Harry

TrappedWind Wed 25-Apr-18 15:08:42

There were no Nigel's registered last year. So I think they will go for that, the trendsetters that they are.

TheFreshPrincess0fBelair Wed 25-Apr-18 15:10:21

Is there an official time they name a royal baby or is it just when they want?

glasshalffull2018 Wed 25-Apr-18 15:12:31

Usually 24 to 72 hours I am presuming the baby will be named before 7pm tonight, usually it's within the normal hours and give newspapers enough chance to name the baby

notacooldad Wed 25-Apr-18 15:12:47

Wow! Seriously?

notacooldad Wed 25-Apr-18 15:15:30

Why is there always such a long wait before they announce a name to the public?

glasshalffull2018 Wed 25-Apr-18 15:16:04

Ian, frank, roger and Clive were names that were in danger which is a shame cause they are good names, roger that!

glasshalffull2018 Wed 25-Apr-18 15:17:09

I think there is a long wait to build up public speculation maximum public impact etc, cause if they announce everything at once it all dies down quite soon. I reckon they will release name with family photo

Grumpyoldblonde Wed 25-Apr-18 15:17:30

Colin is due a revival

mellongoose Wed 25-Apr-18 15:18:06

@notacooldad it took us about 3 days to agree on a name and we didn't have to conform to any royal protocols that I know of!!

StopBeingNosey Wed 25-Apr-18 15:19:18

Gary is nice. I’d like to live in a country with a Prince Gary. I could tolerate Graham too.

TheScottishPlay Wed 25-Apr-18 15:19:25

@notacooldad I suspect it's to keep interest going without any effort on their part or as my DM says 'To keep the pot boiling'.

BendydickCuminsnatch Wed 25-Apr-18 15:20:46

I'm coming round to Alfred, Freddie goes really nicely with George and Charlotte. Arthur/Albert/Bertie are too old man and don't really go with the siblings!

BendydickCuminsnatch Wed 25-Apr-18 15:21:00

(Arthur is DS' middle name btw!)
