I do have some ice chains for putting over my shoes when it's icy (not that it has been, but you never know). But no rawl plugs. Bizarre.

I have safety pins, a screwdriver, an odd sock called sockie(!), pack of cards, a brownies song book, loads of odd bits of paper, receipts and leaflets, a scooby, purse, a small bouncy ball, hair bands. And its only a smallish bag.

just going to pop out to get a balaclava(you just never know when you might need one

I've just had a look too. I've got
Purse
iPAQ
box with pens in
cheque book
sun glasses
rattle
driving licence
book token card (and some book tokens)
a prop from my podiatrist yesterday for my toes
credit cards
tape measure
nail file

I'll have a look, hang on....

  • Mini make-up bag (Rimmel Mascara, Revlon eye colour, Tweezerman tweezers, YSL lipgloss, bodyshop cheekblushtintthing, very neutral Tesco lipstick and retractable lipbrush)

  • Bright pink fleece hat (DD's)

  • Bright pink fleece gloves (also DD's)

  • Dental floss

  • A Remembrance Day Poppy

  • Eyelash curlers

  • Mini umbrella

  • Small pencil (like the ones you used to find in betting shops )

  • Nivea lip balm stick thing

  • A broken bead bracelet made (and broken) by DD.

  • 2 Tesco receipts (£22.78 & £63.65)

  • Thomas Sabo charms pricelist

  • Tiny pewter 'First Curl' pot missing the lid (and the curl)

  • Scrap of paper with my mobile number on it (?)

  • Old shopping list written on a scrappy envelope

  • A massive pair of Next sunglasses (?!)

  • An out of date squirty thing of Rescue Remedy

  • My purse

  • About 23p in loose change and a few Euros

  • Pot of Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse

It is quite a big bag. Weirdly for someone with so much makeup in their bag I very rarely actually wear makeup.

Pants do make a good balaclava as my DD3 (age 3) proved the other morning when I asked her to put her knickers on.

In my handbag:
Nurofen
Paracetamol (I've got a throat infection btw)
2 note books
a few coloured pencils
few cheque books
purse stuffed full of receipts
Oh, another notebook
an old envelope (empty)
key ring torch (doesn't work)
van keys
car keys
house keys
Playgroup Lunch club bill
Pen
used tissues
shell
phone
tampon
mirror
lipstick
perfume (tiny one)
Village Hall keys
Grizzly bar
Hand sanitiser
old tickets for theatre
leaflets for theatre and museums
2 broken watches
Lost child wrist band

My DH would love this thread. reinforces all his prejudices about handbags.

RubyRioja - the escape pod looks fab! Of course it's too late for me now as youngest is 3. Would make a great present though. Damn it - might get that stripey one anyway...
