Judge says

"I have come to the conclusion that due to the concern and embarrassment caused to both you and your family that you will not be offending again, let alone committing sexual offences."

Shock
Imagine the furore if this was a male paedophile and an eight year old girl...

She doesn't look terribly embarrassed in the photo.

Aga I'm going to report your post because those could be searched and then lead to identifying victims and/or family, which is unfair and potentially illegal.

"You realised it was wrong rather than being caught and forced to stop. "

Surely that is not something you should have to 'realise' in respect of a child as young as 8?

It's not remotely ambiguous.

Worrying to see that she was studying childcare.

Apparently the judge has a reputation for being too lenient. Seems ridiculous to suggest that the woman didn't and doesn't understand that she was doing anything wrong, and that there is no reason to think she will do it again. Perhaps the prosecution will appeal.

CheesyBadger · 19/03/2014 00:36

This is far too lenient. The fact that she cannot accept the facts surely makes her dangerous.

Report
HippoCritic · 19/03/2014 04:59

That's so little. Over 50 times? She might've stopped of her own accord but she took her time about it.

Ds is 7. This horrifies me. The sentence is far, far too lenient, am disgusted.

WTF?

My head can't even wrap itself around the thought, and her smugness (where's a vomiting emoticon when we need it?)

Far too lenient. Poster upthread is wrong to think men get treated differently. I can find plenty of examples where male paedophiles are treated far too leniently. Some judges still don't take this seriously enough.

In the Metro this morning the article refers to the two years of abuse as an 'affair'. WTF?

Actually horrified that this case has been treated in this way. Disgustingly lenient on the part of the judge and minimalised by the media.

An affair Shock WTAF?

Our press is just simply appalling.

Yes the sentence is too lenient. Yes sexual / DV type offences often get jaw-droppingly low sentences irrespective of sex of perpetrator / victim. Some judges are just total wankers basically and don't seem to think that these types of crimes are actually crimes Angry

You can complain to the attorney general about unduly lenient sentence if you feel inclined: here

It's disgusting. That little boy has not been protected and she doesn't understand the abuse she has commited 'an affair' he was 8 years old FFS 8!

The DM described it yesterday as her "sleeping" with him Angry No, it was rape.

Poor child. (Ie. the eight year old boy) Justice has not been done

It is a shockingly low sentence for rape of a child. How can a 16 year old not realise that that having sex with a primary school child is morally repugnent.

I imagine that the prison guards will have a job on their hands to stop the other inmates from killing her.

"He said: “Her immaturity at 21 means she cannot accept the facts yet. She accepts her conviction but with time will accept more"

What bollox is that! At 21 years old she is not a young offender.

Errr how can you have sex with an 8yo? I mean at that age the penis hasn't developed yet ..,
Inappropriate sexual conduct, touching etc yes of course I can see easily how that happened. Is it what she has been punished for instead?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/03/2014 19:37

Is it anything to do with less physical impact on the victim? Is it would not physically hurt the child to have penetrative sex with her, but the reverse, an adult male having penetrative sex with an eight year old female child would cause physical damage?

Report
HermioneWeasley · 19/03/2014 19:40

Disgraceful. Makes me feel ill.

Also saw in
Metro this morning that a man has avoided jail after assaulting an 11 year old girl because his wife doesn't speak much English and his family rely heavily on him. Also WTAF about that?!

Report
Hulababy · 19/03/2014 19:41

Techniclly she is a YO til she is 21y and 10m iirr, and will then move into an adult prison system.

This is such a lenient sentence - appalling. The boy boy has been badly let down here.

Reminds me of an Adam sander film I started watching the other day, that's my boy or something like that. School teacher gets pregnant with. 12 year old boy. It made me feel sick and the film treated it like a joke, it also had brother sister(adult) incest in it with the younger brother put across as a bit dumb and inferred it had been going since they were kids.
It was really uncomfortable viewing.
If it had been a film about a male teacher and a 12 year old girl turned into a comedy I bet there would have been boycotts and outcry.
Double standards.

I'm writing to whoever I can about this. It's disgusting. That little boy was raped for fuck sake!

Although, forgive me if I'm wrong but I heard that a woman can't get charged for rape.. Would that apply here?

Whatever the case, she should be seen as what she is, a pedophile who has taken away a young boy's innocence and childhood.

I'm so angry about this and any other case where an adult is allowed to rape a child and get away with minuscule sentences like this.

I have sons aged 7 and 9, I would spill blood before I saw anyone who sexually abused either of them serve a measly 12 months for it. Angry

As for 'affair' the judge needs striking off, would they have said it was an affair if it was a man and an 8 year old little girl? Would they fuck, it would be (correct) outcry of rape by everyone

Really don't know what to say. WTF indeed. Appallingly lenient sentence. Poor child. The pictures of her smirking and smoking outside court just beggars belief. She has no shame or remorse for her actions.
