I didn't drink anything except Perrier on my night out, so feeling tired but otherwise fine

dcs to school, final bit of homework done
Ds2 piano done - 20p a practice (for now)works wonders! He seems very keen
DS1 back today at 3.00! Cake and casserole required.

today the gasman is coming to replace the old meter, so the cupboard under the stairs is my mission
Thanks Simply for the thread.

Morning all Thank you Simply for the thread. I'm going to give myself a rule of 2pm cut off other wise I end up running down the road in a dirty,smelly,t-shirt and late for Ds. Not the way to make friends & influence people at the school gate!

Well the scores on the doors for today:
Dropped Ds at school.Done
D/W unloadeddone
Appointment with opticians
shopping (I know I have to buy something important. The thought drifted into my head then quickly drifted out)
D/W loaded
Make beds
Take down bedroom curtains to be cleaned
Load W/M
Clear out under sink cupboard, put bucket & stuff in shed. Fling the rest
Put clean recycling in its place.
Make Pumpkin soup
Take pork out of freezer for Saturday.
What?s for dinner?
Wish list
Clean fridge
See ya later. Looks like rain here hope it is nice where you are.

strange Starbear, it looks very sunny here and we are West L. Perhaps clouds are gathering from the South West.

swanriver Your 20p a practice system made me smile! Cake and casserole sounds like a lovely homecoming. I think I'm right in thinking that your ds1 is away atm?

Starbear My dsis has a watch that beeps at the same time every weekday to remind her it'll soon be school pick-up time. Or did. Her youngest is now at secondary school. Where does time go?

It's supposed to be raining here sometime this morning but there is no sign of it yet. I might cut the grass later if it's still dry. Bbl.

I need to known how to make sponge cake with a little something and cream & fruit my favorite as a kid. My Mum used to go to Bayswater to buy it!!! I think it'll be less time & money if I just learn to make it.

Delia?
ingredients at room temperature not from fridge, soft marg or butter (I use Lurpak Spreadable - not light kind)
put everything in bowl, electric cake beater
bake in a non-stick or greaseproof lined tin wwith removable base
make sure it is cooked before removing from oven(test with knife or skewer)
stay optimistic when it doesn't look perfect
ice when completely cool
stay optimistic when bits of cake crumb come off whilst you are icing it

or you could try the whisked sponge method [menacing which is nice with cream...

As you can see I am a novice.

I am in awe at anyone who bakes . One day I will learn.

Tort - well done with the costumes, I go check out your pics.
Swan - hurray for the car key!

Today:
Collect DC (remember PE kits)
laundry
lidl
clean kitchen

DS said 'who is coming to stay this weekend?' I said 'Nobody '.

Afternoon all

Hope everyone is well. Yay to Swan for finding car keys (they've been gone a while). Good for you for knuckling down with the revision Leo and good luck with the birthday Tort - Hello to anyone I've missed.

Well should be at school this afternoon but had a word this morning and agreed to come in for two morning rather than two full days from now on - I'm struggling to do everything in the time that I have and getting a little stressed with it and figured there isn't much difference in the experience I get between a full or 1/2 day but I make a happier mummy and wife.

So i've come home to get some more of my PGCE app done and a few bits of housework before I'm giving myself an hour off for the gym (another thing I need to make time for or cancel if i'm not going to use)

I'm just giving myself a lunch break before I get on with the jobs and thought i'd say hi

Tea we cancelled Sky and haven't missed it at all. In the end we consolidated our debts with a secured loan with the building society. At least there is a light at the end of the tunnel now
