Sorry I didn't find this thread so posted once under old Thurs one.

I need help
Insomnia has driven me to exhaustion
Dp came home last night and said he was feeling very down.
House went to pot last night and I'm faced with disarray.

Had a productive day yesterday but did lots of cooking and the kitchen shows it.And I suddenly feel i can't face it.

Children being children - but I'm frazzled and NOT in the mood.

Can someone give me a little poke and a few words of encouragement? I really need to get it together as I feel like I've hit a birck wall.

Got painter round today and have to put adverts for nursery on website... can't be dithering a round.

Sorry for miserable post. x
Perhpas I need to use the timer?

Everything is still a mess here. The kitchen floor is still wet, I'm going to have to do last nights washing up in the bath Hopefully it will be dry by the time the council comes about lunch time to lay the new floor, proves how damp the flat is!!
No plans for today apart ftom trying to keep Ds amused with no room to move and pouring rain outside.

Oh poor Laura, and your poor dh, BUT you did have a productive day yesterday, so hopefully you won't have too so much foodwise today? So you are ahead really. I was up too late yest too. It is like groundhog day really, or snakes and ladders never feeling one is progressing with housework.

RE Kitchen mess. It always makes me feel much better to just pile everything into sink, near sink run lots of therapeutic hot soapy water and clear all worktops.
Then I take a deep breath and start washing up a bit of it, and putting some in dw.

I'm coming back onto computer in 15 mins when I've done something useful. Would you like to set timer with me?
BB15 mins

sorry dylsmum my kitchen floor was ment to be getting retiled yesterday but it was too wet, due to previous pipe leaks. He therefore put something all over the floor yesterday to level it and dry it out, unfortunately it's still hasn't dried.

Also agree dhs' states of minds can be very overwhelming. Only (cold)comfort is to know once they've passed on their low feelings they often feel a bit better for the rest of the day

Dylsmum you are a great encouragement I will try interspersing housework and paperwork on same principle.

Lovely to see wendy back again . And always lovely to have simply pop in!

Morning everyone else. smile

laura sorry you are struggling a bit. You've not hit a brick wall, just a closed door - which you can gently open. Understandable you feel the way you do though considering the lack of sleep, which can make everything insurmountable. Do what has been suggested, esp by dyl, do bits in little bursts so as not to exhaust and sicken yourself, and try to power nap when you can. You have done SO well. Focus on what you have done rather than what you still have to do, and congratulate yourself for that.

Not much for me to do today. House is lovely and all missions done. So going to spend the morning at the hairdressers getting hair coloured

Prob won't be around much today but will hopefully pop in later on. Have a lovely day all x

Morning ladies!
First off apologies for any dodgy typing - I'm currently playing hairdressers with DD4 and she is brushing/tugging/spraying/twirling my hair LOL

swan sound like youre planning to fit a lot in this morning - are your mornings twice as long as mine or something?

laura Doing things in short bursts is a good idea - stops you getting overwhelmed. 10 or 15 mins at a time. Make a list maybe to prioritise and start on first thing - and forget about the rest whilst you do thatone thing. It will get back on track gradually, and I bet it turns out to be not as bad as you think.Hope your day goes well and youre feeling brighter soon.Or actually just decide to give up fpr a day like I did the other day and snuggle/play with/nap with your DC!

dyls looks like a busy day!Butlooks like youre doing well!

tiger hope you get your floor sorted. Sounds a nightmare - not what you need is it!

Things not to bad here.
Have been up since 5.15 though (thanks to DS2)BUT it does mean I got lots done before school even!

DONE
everyone up, breakfasted, dresed
3 beds made
stripped dd1 and 2's beds
bedding in wash
Sandwhiches made
breakfast cleared,DW loaded
hoovered lounge, stairs, landing , bedrooms
swept and mopped kitchen and hall floors
upstairs bathroom S&S
school drop off
Home - snack and MN time

so TO DO
sweep and mop dining room
reboot laundry
clean washing away
remake DD's beds

So going to play with dd mostly this am.... then nursery drop off as shes better today!

Hope youre all having good mornings so far

Gibb, sounds like a lovely morning Enjoy!!

{sad} Laura, I totally agree with the other ladies, the thing I feel, that makes FlyLady work is that under no circumstances are you expected to get it all done at once. 10 minute here and there can make a huge difference. If 15 seems to big before you stop for a natter/play with the kids/cuppa coffee then do 5 minutes 5 minutes is loads of time to wipe the sides down and clear the table in the kitchen, then come back and do some more later. By the time you fall into bed tonight your kitchen will be done and things will be easier to start tomorrow morning.

Thanks for thread and links Swan and Shannara hope you both have productive and fun days.

Dyls - I have a huge bag in the garage that needs to go to the charity shop, I must try to get it done this weekend, it is really hard to get the boys bikes in and out because of my tat

So I have a cake in the oven for a client to pick up tomorrow, DS2 is at playgroup, DS1 is at school, the house is clean and I am pooped but desperately trying not to have a nap because I can't let the cake burn!!!!!

Have been having a lovely week but Mum is back from Holiday this weekend and I know it will all start again, must keep trying to keep visualising this when she rants on.

ANyway hope all the missing Flyladies are well.
Back later

Greyskull, my mum rants too (and so do I as result)It makes me feel really useless and badtempered when she does it, and really argumentative, I feel I become a sort of a passive aggressive nightmare. Anyway she is being fine (and happy)for now, so maybe your mum will be in good form after holiday.
What a lovely duck to visualize. A form of smiling and nodding.
