lol@parallel mn world everyone else must have lovely sunny weather and be out, either that or gone into hiding maybe

I hate washing days but do try and leave as long as poss (usually until oh points out he's no undies to wear) as I hate washing half loads through the week. Although now I've said that you can guarantee mil and fil will take lo out somewhere tomorrow and come back with every change of clothes I send needing to go through washer and oh will get invited for a 'kick about' since he's no footy and I'll end up doing it then

My kids are the worst, DD1 must change at least twice daily depending on what her friends have on, DD2 is just a magnet for muck, my DS is forever deciding he is too hot/cold and changing accordingly and my DH, well he is a grubby mechanic type so I always have overalls and minging jumpers and the likes that need washing!

Never ends really does it!

nope, never ends! i'm on load number 4 now and 3 in the td! and mil has just turned up with another case of baby stuff to sort through so will be at that this afternoon as well.

don't think i'll be doing much else today

hi everyone ...well ludaloo and lucysmam anyway.
Havent posted for a couple of days as had visitors....also babystepping has gone to pot! I think im going to start at day 9 again tomorrow!
Cant do any washing today as its pouring with rain, I already have clothes airers full of wet clothes and DP moans if I use the drier " except in emergencies"! It'll be an emergency when he's got no dry shirts!
Think I'll do some ironing now...visting family in England next weekend with DD so think I'll be organised and iron the clothes to pack.

Afternoon All (well, luda, lucys and CB)

Been busy today and I'm having a well needed rest

Done

Up
Downstairs with washing
load DW and run
Load WM and run
Clean sink
Clean hob
Clean worksurfaces
Empty bins
Peg washing out (I was told the yellow cicle in the sky is the sun )
Shower for Ed and I
Dress
Into town, Go to library, shops (Farmer Duck 50p ) and Tesco
Home

To Do

Ironing pile
Vac and dust bedroom
Garden trimming
Sew name tapes into Ed's uniform

Spent yesterday evening picking caterpillars off the purple sprouting brocolli. It has been ravaged. Thing is all my life I have wanted to find caterpillars in the garden and this is the 1st time I've managed it in 35 years, Ed has been doing a growth topic in school and did a show based on the Very Hungry Caterpillar and I'm an Ecology graduate so...I can't do away with them. They are in a pasta sauce jar in the porch with some lettuce leaves. Maybe I should put in some pears, plums, lollipops and a slice of salami (??)

Coast is on UKTV Documentary...that's me sorted

Hope you three (and those to come) are well and peachy

There's only 1 week of the holidays left. I really don't feel that I've done enough with Ed. There's loads we could have done

hello again

lol rowingboat i have that all the time on laptop, frustrating isn't it!

my lo has been in bed sock on since quarter to 6ish!! didn't have anything to eat or a bath, just straight to sleep & we've only had a walk over the road this afternoon to co-op, not like we've run a marathon with her!!!

Am just doing last suitcase of baby bits now and then a shower and pots and oh wants to take a trip to the bedroom department but i can't be bothered, have tried to entertain very stroppy Lucy all day and am knackered!

Hello all

Wishing you a great break Ruby

I've done the trimming n pruning and I've also did the Huge basket of ironing which I think is quite enough for a woman who despises ironing (gardening is a pleasure (even though I haven't got a clue what I'm doing))

So tomorrow it's the name tape thing. About all the sewing I can do.

So anyone got a clue how I can use vinegar to improve the quality of my laundry?

eee the stuff you ask for on a bank holiday!

All i got done today was fence painting! DD's enjoyed helping me in old trousers and painting aprons! The path is a bit splattered with paint lol. Fence looks heaps better.
I still have the fences out the back to do! And the grass needs cutting again. I am sure i only did that a few days ago.

Have 80% of school stuff ready. Just waiting for DD2's name labels to arrive. Then i can iron them on. Most of DD1's had been done now. And DS's i just write in the label! To lazy to sew thier old name tapes in.

Morning ladies

How is everyone today???

Me and my oh have both woken up full of cold and he has toothache as well but can't get to the emergency dentist when they can see him because of the way buses run. So I've sent him back to bed after a cuppa & some paracetamols.

Was debating giving him some bonjela as well for toothache but we've only got the teething gel so couldn't make my mind up if it would be any help.

My plan for today looks something like this. . . .
~brekky for lo
~wash pots from oh's munchies last night and brekky
~finish td-ing last of baby stuff & bag it up
~make lo's bed and our bed
~tidy swimming baths changing room bathroom again
~take lo to park if it stays sunny
~bake bread
~decide whats for tea
~menu plan/shopping list for shopping on Friday
~sort paperwork that I need for appointment on Tuesday

grouchy why are you keeping caterpillars in jars?

I found a cricket (at least that's what I think it was ) in the bathroom last night . . . speedy little thing & jumped bloody miles when I tried to get it in a glass to put outside

Anyways, best go do something in a mo, just don't have any motivation atm since oh is ill on the only Sunday he hasn't had footy for months

Morning ladies

tort well done you with the fence painting! I bet it is looking great now.
I have to label all their school stuff too....I expect I'll just write their names in everything, I tried the iron on labels but they all came off within about 2 months of them being put on, and I don't want to sew labels on because I will be handing uniform down, so I won't want to unpick it all when DD2 needs to use them.

Hope you have a good break Ruby lucysmam sounds like your lo was just very tired, hope she is less grumpy for you today.

GO no idea how vinigar helps washing...I know if you run the machine empty and put vinigar in the soap drawer it helps to keep limescale down and washes the inside of the machine really well. Not sure how to use it with clothes though.
I use soda crystals, they help soften the water and get rid of grease and stains a treat.
Just put about a table spon in with your normal washing powder...or if you usually put a tablet or pouch in with the washing, just put the soda crystals where the powder would normally go.
It also means you can use less powder and it still washes just as well. Soda crystals are as cheap as chips too.
Apparently Borax does pretty much the same thing if you add it to your washing.

Well it absolutely poured down last night. So far this morning it is just wet and overcast.

Nothing planned really, just carrying on with the washing.

xx
