Apologies for coming over like a patronising ars3 at the end of the Friday Fly thread. {sad] I thought I was helping.

DH's Office Manager called and asked him to think about it over the weekend. He's got a load of contacts and is going to look for another position. He's getting at least 8K less than he's worth atm - No wonder I have problems sleeping

Morning EHM you clearly had a good evening out!
Grouchy good luck with dh thinking through work options....
HN Hello
Shoobie lol - guests always make you get on with FLYing better. Hope they appreciate it!

I'm off to work today it will be a shame to be cooped up on this gorgeous day. I should be home by mid-afternoon so hope to get some time to enjoy the day then. Lots to do at work so I'll be kept busy anyway

The house is looking pretty good after my clear-up-athon yesterday Will give FLYing a break for the weekend and get going agin on Monday.

See you all later, enjoy your day

Ah....I've been mobbed by the kids who have all jumped on me to remind me I PROMISED to take them blackberry picking!

Which I did, so I'm off to honour my word

See you all in a bit

OOOOOOHHHHHH I'M SOOOOO SMILEY TODAY!

Back from a lovely afternoon.....beautiful weather...we only managed to find a handful of blackberries though won't be making a crumble with them!

Might do a nice cottage pie in a mo.

Have just bought a nice pair of trainers and some jeans from ebay (don't tell dh) He really can't object though, they were both a bargain and I'm in desperate need for new clothes!

Well better get off before I spend some more money we don't have

Hope you have all had a good day

Report
shouldbe · 11/08/2007 17:05

That sounds like a nice afternoon Luda shame there's not enough blackberries for a crumble though - we have hardly any cooking apples on our tree this year so probably won't get a crumble either Good for you and your new clothes

We're busy getting ready for a BBQ We were expecting friends to join us but they've had to go to a family get-together instead so we have lots of yummy food which needs eating

Better go and get some onions done ready for the hot dogs See you later x

Nice BBQ rounded off with ds getting a very nasty splinter that he won't let us remove (tips on getting them out v welcome - we've tried tweezers and a warm bath....no luck - it's a big splinter in his big toe poor lad) and dd being rude, calling me an idiot and being sent to her room....

Both in bed now...think I'll follow them soon....

See you tomorrow x

SHOULDBE I READ A THREAD RECENTLY About splinter removal. Somethng bout leaving a plaster in overnight. I will find it for you.
(Sorry about caps...to tired to retype it all)

Hello everyone

grouchy if you hadn't mentioned it we wouldn't have all gone back to look I'd say helpful rather than patronising, too

We've had a lovely day out at a fun day, which was extremely badly advertised, and so very underattended. Great for us as all the activities were free, and there were no queues I will put pics of me and dd2 on funky bikes on my profile in a mo if you want to see.
I may even do a bit of FLYstuff tomorrow, but I'm heading for an early night tonight after all day out in the sun.

Hi all.
Our new tent arrived today.
It is great. I love it. I put it up in the garden to check it was all ok. Only got stuck on one bit. It is pretty heavy though.

Looks like everyone has had a good day.

Jas Lol @ your double/triple posting!

Shouldbe Plaster with savlon on overnight should draw the splinter out.

Jas · 11/08/2007 20:46

Splinter removal....soak in hot water and dettol/salt/washing up liquid.
Cover in soap and sugar/magnesium sulphate and leave overnight.

Delete as appropriate depending on what you have available, and use bribery to get him to sit still.
I always use a needle but getting children to sit and let you do that is not easy.

shouldbe · 11/08/2007 21:45

Thanks jas ( at duplicate posts!)and tort
I'll go and find some savlon and try to put a plaster on overnight. I'm sure the whole street heard his screams as he realised he had another splinter (he had had first ever only last weekend - thankfully came out with very little effort, but much crying) He screamed so much tonight that once he stopped he was sooo exhausted he feel asleep
I'm shattered and have wasted the evening sitting and starting into space while dh has cleared out the garage
I really am off to bed now. See you tomorrow x

Morning EHM

Ds hasn't mentioned the splinter yet this morning so dh and I will have another try in a bit when we've all woken up enough to deal with it. Dd has now hurt her neck doing handstands on the sofa so she's the one in a state this morning. I don't think it's serious, I think she's just twisted it but that can really hurt - I'm running her a warm bath now.

Dh was in big clear-out mode yesterday - and I'm feeling a little like that today so may try to tackle the giant hotspots that are the spare room and the utility room.

See you later x

Morning All

shouldbe hope ds's splinter has come out this morning...poor thing.

Jas your pics are fab....does that huge bike actually go anywhere?? You all look like you are pedalling in oppposite directions! Glad you had a good day....bonus for you that it wasn't so well advertised!

tort well done you for getting the tent up! I tried putting ours up in the garden and it took me hours (and hours)

Well I have no particular agenda for today. It is raining, and the kids are tired and moany already this morning. DD2 woke up at 6.15 am, closely followed by DS. DD1 is actually still asleep.

Well I may be back with a list as soon as I have established what needs doing. I might try and persuade DH that swimming is a good idea today
