How much did your washing machine cost?

After being repaired three times, we are buying a new washing machine (after 13 years). The price of new washing machines vary from £200 to £2000..... how much did you spend?

£350 or so, in 2003. From JL so maybe paid a slight premium?

Indesit washer dryer, which I know gets panned quite a lot. Had some new bearings last year but apart from that, it's fine.

£650 and it's brilliant. I couldn't have spent less and got the spin speed, drum size, cycle combinations etc that I wanted - the sharper ones just didn't offer the options.

Mines a washer dryer and cost me just over £1000 about 7 years ago. It's a Miele and is fantastic.

Spent £400 odd on a Samsung - love it! Got a good discount on it though otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford it

£370 last October for a new Bosch. All fine so far.

The previous time was about the same back in 2002, also for a Bosch.

My last washing machine was nearly £900. After spending nearly the same again on repairs over the few years i had it before getting rid of it i decided they were essentially disposable and i would never spend that amount again.

My latest cost £200 and has lasted the same amount of time as the expensive one with no need for repair.

£649, entry level Miele. Just turned 8 years old

About £900 on a miele seven years ago. It is still as wonderful as ever. In laws have just bought a Samsung for about £500 and they love it, the functions are almost identical to my Miele.

A Miele engineer came once as I thought I'd broken it, but it was fine. He said to clean it regularly with soda crystals and white vinegar on a hot wash (not together) and to only use powder for whites. I immediately swapped to powder for whites and darks and it hasn't needed cleaning since.

I love the 20 minute express wash at 1400rpm.

I'd only ever had washer dryers before. Maybe that's why I love it so much!

£640 for an entry level Miele this week.

Nearly killed me paying that. I really don't have the sort of money to spend that on an appliance....But I'd been through 3 cheapo crap ones in 5 years (Indesit, Hotpoint and Hoover) and the hassle of them breaking down, getting repaired etc was ridiculous. When the last one broke I couldn't afford a new machine and bought a second hand one for £30 from buy and sell. It turned out to be a 20+ year old Miele that worked perfectly for us for 3 years until we sold our flat and it didn't survive the storage, so I was determined to buy a Miele as I am so sick of buying crap that breaks quickly.

Around £350 for an Indesit washer dryer. Washing machine part still going strong after 4 years. Dryer not up to scratch now but I have someone coming out to it on Tuesday. I'm hoping it can't be fixed and I will get it replaced.
