Buying Miele undercounter fridge - purchase from Appliances Direct or Miele.co.uk?

I'm buying the Miele K12012 S-2 with an icebox in. Has anyone shopped from Appliances Direct before? From Appliances Direct it is £319.97 with 2 years Warranty.

Straight from Miele it is £370.

So where should as buy it? With companies going bust lately, I'm not sure if I should buy it from somewhere I've not shopped before/heard off.

I bought a washing machine from Appliances Direct and had no problem with them at all. Delivery etc all fine.

I've used Appliances Direct with no problems. Only thing is sometimes they have to order stuff and it can take a while.

Do you have to have an undercounter fridge? My parents really regretted theirs.

cider we currently have one now. Our kitchen is very tiny galley kitchen. We have no freezer because we cant fit one in. The only reason we're getting a new one is because I need an icebox so I can freezer ice packs for the DC's lunch boxes! In approx three years time we will be putting in a new kitchen but I can't see how we could get a big fridge/freezer without kitchen looking very crowded. The obvious place for one would be at the side at the far end of the kitchen but the current larder cupboard in that position is less deep then the rest of the countertops, so a tall fridge/freezer simply wouldn't fit. I don't want one going up the wall in the centre of the worktops because that would look horrible! If we had both an undercounter fridge and separate undercounter freezer, they would have to butt right up against the oven

Isn't there an MN thing about freezing a drink / yoghurt pack, which will then de-frost by lunchtime, in order to avoid using freezer packs? I may have dreamt this .

Of course, you'll still need a freezer, just not freezer packs.

Could you order from John Lewis,there delivery was quicker than Miele for us.

John Lewis didn't stock the one I needed just the big ones.

I've ordered direct from Miele now as by the time I'd payed for deliver on Apliances direct I'd have only saved £30. I felt more comfortable ordering from Miele.

I found out about three years extra warranty on top of wo years three and it would have been £179, half the price of the machine! Didn't think this was worth it!

Minimalist, funnily enough, I have been investigating this particular undercounter fridge too but I gave up on it for two reasons: 1) too deep for my kitchen as it would protrude excessively from under my worktop and 2) suboptimal storage in the door.

Having said that, I have not seen a better one anywhere else so I shall make do with my current fridge for a bit longer.

If I were you, I would buy it either from Appliances Direct or John Lewis.

Rat just checked the measurement again against my own undercounter fridge and it seems to be 1 cm deeper so I'm hoping it should be OK, I've looked at so many undercounter fridges and this is the one with the biggest fridge capacity with a little icebox so I don't think I have much choice.
Would you mind telling me the depth of your counter top?

Minimalist, my current Hotpoint fridge which is 60 cm deep protrudes by about 1cm from my worktop. I think the worktop is just under 60cm wide but because of the socket which is situated behind the fridge itself, the latter cannot be pushed back all the way, if you see what I mean.

Just one thing: on the Which website, there is a picture of the Miele fridge and the handle is not part of the door. It may not be included in the depth measurement of the fridge... It is fairly unobtrusive though, so it may not be a problem.

I am with you about the lack of decent undercounter fridge-freezers. There is a gap in the market for something well-designed. On my profile, there is a picture of my current fridge, whose design was great (2 adjustable shelves and four levels in the door.) I have not seen anything as good anywhere.

Definitely, let me know how the Miele fridge is! I think my fridge may last a bit longer but I may need to get one in a hurry at some stage.

Just measured my worktop it is exactly 60 cm wide, I think the Miele will stick out ever so slightly more than out current fridge but I have no other choice from what's available on the market so I will let you know how I get on, fingers crossed it will be Ok! I hate buying electrical goods! I'm really in hurry for one literally so I can send the Dc with lunches with cool packs in as we have no freezer and no space for even a table top one!
