Central Heating Help!

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but couldn't see where else to post, so please bear with me.
Decided the time had come to put the heating on on Friday night, so programmed times and on it went. Then last night it din't come on. Not very technical, but tried turning it on and off a couple of times, but nothing happened. Noticed the light on the heating system was off and the bit under status read 0. This morning, the light was flashing on and off and the bit under status read C, so felt hopeful and put it on manual to see if the radiators warmed up. After a few minutes, the light went off again and the status went back to 0.
It's a rented property, but the landlord is covered by British Gas HomeCare. Do I have to contact her now and ask for them to come out ASAP, or is there anything else I can try first? They were out at the end of June to fit a new pump, as the central heating packed up then, so surely it's too soon for any more problems? I really don't understand why everything worked fine for the first night and then fell apart. The house is only 5 or 6 years old, so it's by no means an old system. Advice please!

Just wondered if you have a separate thermostat thing. Cause if that is the same temperature as it is in the house then it won't come on.
Just a thought! I am not qualified in how central heating works though so I could be wrong.Smile

Check the pressure gauge

Don't know but its not really your problem its the landlady's so get her out quickly to see whether she can set you right and if not then she can use her homecare cover!

pressure has dropped by the sounds of it. My boiler has a sticker on the side telling you where the valve is and how to sort it. Is there one on yours? if not has the landlady left a manual for the boiler - that will tell you what to do

If you google the make and model you should be able to find a manual so you can find out what the little lights mean.

But if you are renting it does sound like something your landlord should sort out.

The other thing you could check is if it has special weekend settings-in this case you may have set it to come on only during the week and not at the weekend.

Thanks All.
After further investigation, I noticed the burner was coming on when it was time to heat the hot water, so the problem is only with the radiators not warming up. Those of you wondering about pressure dropping are probably right. Unfortunately, there's no sticker on my boiler about where the valve is and how to sort it, careergirl. I rang the landlord last night, so she will contact British Gas HomeCare, and hopefully the problem will be fixed before the really cold weather sets in! Thanks again.

Ask them to show you where the pressure gauge is and then if it's that you can easily do it yourself another time
