How often do you brush your kitchen floor?

I seem to be getting all OCD about the kitchen floor and am constantly brushing it.

How often do you brush and/or mop yours?

Exactly babycham! It stays clean for all of 30 seconds and then there's 'bits' all over it again. I need to chill out about it because I seem to permanently have the brush in my hand.

I also feel like I'm doing this incessantly. We've got a black and white chequerboard floor. Apparently these look twice as dirty as other floors, because the black squares show the light dirt and the white squares show the dark Hmm.

3-4 times a day. One of those picker upper things are great - you charge them up and then turn on and they sweep up - I use that most the time :)

Twice a day.
However I only wash it about once a week.....it is a huge area, and frankly I just can't be arsed. Dd dropped a huge jar of pesto on it yesterday and I managed to get away with localised washing. [slovenly behaviour]

sweep once a day
mop 2 times a week (should be more!)

Constantly. Black tiles were a BAD choice!

Vacuum once a week and mop once a week (by cleaning lady). Complete slattern here but floor is marvellous and doesn't hardly show up dirt.

ok we moved in last sept, i think i have cleaned in about 10 (if that) times, it has never been mopped [shame] however we don't have kids and most of the dirt sits underneath the cabinets so i can't see it Blush

Brush = never. Hoover twice a day if not more depending on how much food the baby has thrown. Wet mop once a week, steam mop once a week (DH does that though, it's technology innit)

AMumInScotland · 11/08/2011 11:38

About once a week usually! But then we don't have small children or pets, and no muddy boots coming through (kitchen is upstairs so all the dirt is on the downstairs hall carpet!)

Brush - at least once a day. Mop - twice a week. Spot cleaning (hands and knees with a floor cloth) after most meals Hmm

Sweep probably about every day/every other day depending on food on floor. Mop....um.....4 or 5 times a year......Blush

In my head/ideal world I do it before bed and wake up to a sparkling floor but generally my arse is still on the sofa come bedtime......... I do it when it gets so bad that the cat has moved out in protest.
baby No2 expected in Nov, so need to get organised before he/she crawls.

Once a week. Perhaps twice if someone's coming round. I pay the kids 15p to sweep and mop, they get round to it more often than I ever would.
I find I get less upset by the mess if I don't look.
Once a day, I can see how people do that, but several times a day is too much ( unless I'm being thick and "sweep the kitchen floor" is a new euphemism, even still, a few times a week is plentyWink)

Once a day at least!

Can all those people who don't do it obsessively, tell me what colour/material is on their kitchen floor as mine really shows the fluff!
