7months post csection...still tender

had second c section 7 months ago and my abdomen is still rather tender about an inch all around the scar. Its felt particulary sore for the last 10 days, more tender than usual, feels bruised. Is it likely that I've just strained the abdominal muscles? I have hurt my back so maybe I've put strain on abdominals?

i really dont wanna go to docs an ask cos they will refer me for a gyne app which is so not what i need. anyonehad similar pains this long after? is this just normal?

I had a similar problem, can't remember exactly when,but probably round about 6-7 month mark. It felt to me as if my insides were knitting together IFKWIM. I put it down to twisting to get the car seat in and out the car etc, and maybe the muscles were just not quite ready for that. Have had twinges right on my scar on and off on one side also, but past couple of months has been okay. I'm still slightly numb 11 months after section, but think this is normal. If you're still worried though, can't you just ask your GP -surely they can deal with it without refering you?

not sure if this is any help but I have had this with my scar. the whole area is quite numb - I can't stand to touch it or for anyone else to touch it... But I have had random pain (feels like it's bruised) which has come and gone. I did find that it was worse if I'd been really busy the day before so I think it might be to do with muscle strains.

I'm pregnant now so I get even more random pains in it as it stretches! All fun!

I would give it a few days and see if it wears off.

Ha! I know, I can't stand to touch mine either. And as for DP - if he tries he gets a slap. It's horrible.

okay, thanks... i'll not worry for now then. you know what its like.... convinced myself there must be something wrong... just forget that theres a lot of healing still going on. thankyou

me too DS is 8 months and it really bothers me at least once a day especially on one side.

Well they say it takes a year don't they, so I guess there's healing going on for quite a while. It's just harder to get any sypmpathy more than a month after the event I find

DS is over a year and my scar still twinges on one side from time to time - espec if I do too much. You are right about the sympathy -it rapidly goes doesn't it!!

My Grandad has just had a major op and he's getting a lot of R&R and the pitchforked devil side of me was looking at him in hospital when he was whinging and thinking...uhhh! I had to breastfeed practically non stop after my major op......

I am amazed at how you are just left to get on with it afterwards, bf constantly, no sleep, sore nips, nappy changes and so on.. I'd imagine any other abdominal surgery and you'd be told to take it easy and get plenty of sleep. I'm sure this has been done before on here so I won't start..

I soooooo agree!!! I was told by nurse that DS wasn't comfy on my breast in the bed so I had to crawl out of the bed and sit on the chair next to the bed...DS wanted to feed practically all night so I spent most of the night in the chair and I didn't have one of those electric bed things so when I was struggling to sit up and asked the nurse for help..

My emergency call button didn't even work, so would have been amazed at a working electric bed- wow!

I can remember going to the loo on the ward....had a crippling pain in scar and couldn't reach down to pull my knickers up...I really tried but it hurt so much I was crying...I rang the emergency button in the loo and the nurses came in and I wailed

I caaann't pull my pants up....

Cue loads of huffiness and much disgusted looks on their part!

Fgs!!!! What are those buttons there for!! Amusement!

my friend had an horrendous c section... very traumatic... midwife (to describe her as overwieght is massive understatement) askd her to sign a form, 4 days post section, made my friend get up to her!

I really didn't enjoy my stay in hospital. It's all coming back to me now. Think there was a sort of "good midwife/bad midwife" scenario going on. Rather odd.

i needed a wee after my section (no catheter for some reason... i called them and asked for help.. they said 'are you desperate'.... 'no but i can't feel my legs so I'm guessing its gonna be tricky'

You should have weed (sp??) on the bed. That would have shut them up

oh now you've got me started.... baby is 12 hours old, i can baely move.... lots of crying from baby... i'm barely awake.... trying to get to the crib... midwife comes in and asks ' do you realise your baby is crying' and buggers off!!!!

I got a row for not realising DD had a wet nappy (at about 4 am). In fact, I got a few rows come to think on it.

i laugh about it now.... its nearly as good as when i went into hospital... in labour, three days before my planned section, was a friday night... was told not to worry as 'it might go away' and 'its really difficult to do an emergency section at the weekend'!!! i didnt know whether to call him a wanker or an arse
