I made the gingerman dough thinking that I'll make it soon but never got around. It's been left in the fridge for now about a week. Would you bake it still or would I foodpoison my toddler and my pregnant self?? (I put one egg yolk in the mix if that helps..) I know it doesn't sound good but I hate wasting..

You could bake it slowly and leave it out to dry as christmas decorations.
but don't eat it.

No, don't use it now.

It is only egg and flour. Not worth the potential consequences.

I like the idea of using them as decorations.
Make a hole in his head before you bake him, so you can hang him up.
Then use poster paint to decorate him
Then varnish him with pva glue.

And now you need a gingerbread recipe without eggs!

100g muscavado sugar
125g unsalted butter
4 tbsp golden syrup

325g plain flour
1 tsp bicarb of soda
2 tsp ground ginger (or half/half cinnamon)

Melt the first three in a pan. Then mix with sieved dry ingredients to make dough.

Roll out 5mm thick for cutting. Cook 10mins-ish at 10 degrees.

I regularly make a batch of gingerbread dough and use half - saving the rest for the week or next weekend.

*disclaimer I am not pregnant

Coughs. I think I meant cook at 170 degrees rather than ten .
