Condensed milk caramel and recipe

Someone gave us an unopened tin of boiled condensed milk a while ago that he had going spare after making some caramel tarts. I've finally thought about getting round to using it. But will it still be ok?
I was thinking of millionaire shortbread or a version of with flapjack base. Any nice recipes?

Millionaire shortbread but before you add the chocolate put a layer of crunchy peanut butter. It's incredible

One of my favourite things to do is to put the tin, unopened, into a pan of hot water over a medium heat for 3 hours (keep checking to make sure the water hasn't boiled dry) Then remove it and leave it to cool
The contents are delish on ice cream, spread on biscuits or just eaten with a spoon......might need to do this this weekend...

The condensed milk had already been boiled but I wasn't sure if it was still ok to use having been sat in the cupboard for a while.
Anyway I've given it a go- millionaire shortbread. The caramel seemed really think so I heated it in the microwave for a bit which was a mistake as it made it lumpy. Confused anyway I pressed on and added the chocolate and waiting for it to go cold. Couldn't add peanut butter as we don't have any in! But I reckon I'll try this again now I've discovered caramel!

I once made Millionaires Tiffin. It was the work of the devil and I ate it all in about 15 minutes.

Or if you're too lazy to boil it, they've done that for you nowadays www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/260491872

Someone had already boiled it. I made millionaire shortbread and it was very delicious. Looking forward to more experimenting!
